The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) is a provincial immigration pathway that allows the Northwest Territories (NWT) government to nominate skilled workers and business applicants for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR). This program is designed to support the economic development of the Northwest Territories by attracting foreign nationals who have the skills and work experience needed to fill labor shortages in the region. The Northwest Territories is known for its natural beauty, strong job opportunities, and high demand for skilled workers in various industries.

The NTNP offers different immigration streams such as the Employer-Driven Stream, Express Entry Stream, and the Business Stream. The Employer-Driven Stream is suitable for foreign workers who have a valid job offer from an employer in the Northwest Territories. It includes categories for skilled workers, semi-skilled workers, and entry-level workers depending on the occupation. The Express Entry Stream is linked with Canada’s Express Entry system, and candidates nominated through this stream receive an additional 600 CRS points, increasing their chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR.

The Northwest Territories offers job opportunities in sectors such as construction, mining, transportation, healthcare, hospitality, tourism, administration, and skilled trades. The program is especially beneficial for individuals who are already working in NWT and want to settle permanently.
