अनन्तं बत मे वित्तं यस्य मे नास्ति किंचन ।

मिथिलायां प्रदीप्तायां न मे दह्यति किंचन ।।

anantaṃ bata me vittaṃ yasya me nāsti kiṃcana ।
mithilāyāṃ pradīptāyāṃ na me dahyati kiṃcana ।।

These are the words of King Janaka - the King of Mithila ...

My treasures are immense, yet I have nothing ! If again the whole of Mithila were burnt and reduced to ashes, nothing of mine will be burnt.
