कार्यार्थिनो दीर्घमिवाध्वखेदं विक्रीतदासा इव कर्मभारम् ।
कष्टं कटुद्रव्यमिवामयार्ताः स्वभर्तृगेहं वनिता सहन्ते ॥
kāryārthino dīrghamivādhvakhedaṃ vikrītadāsā iva karmabhāram |
kaṣṭaṃ kaṭudravyamivāmayārtāḥ svabhartṛgehaṃ vanitā sahante ||
People who want to get something done, put up with the fatigue of a long journey just as hired slaves put up with heavy loads of work. Just as people afflicted by disease tolerate a bitter medicine, women put up with the chores in their husband’s home.
