ॐ नमो नारायणाय -Today is Pausha Shukla Paksha Vaikuntha or Mokshada or Mukkoti Ekadashi As per Vishnu Puraan it was on this day that during the “Sagara Manthana” (churning of the ocean), ‘Amrit’ (nectar) emerged out of the ocean and was distributed to the Gods. As per Padma Purana Lord Vishnu was sleeping in cave called 'Himavati' in Badrikashrama. A demon Muran tried to slay the Lord, a female energy emerged from the Lord burnt him to ashes in one look. Sri Vishnu named her as ‘Ekadasi’. In Mahabarata, Bhagavad Gitopadesha or the conversation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna at the beginning of Kurukshetra War is said to have occurred on this day. It is widely believed that the gates to the heaven open - the Gate of Vaikuntha - on the Vaikunta Ekadasi day.
For realising the self, Pure Awareness, purity of mind is required. The Ekadasi Vrata is that one can conquer rajasic and tamasic tendencies in us through fasting. The demon Muran stands for the rajasic and tamasic qualities in people, which attributes to lust, passion, inertia, arrogance etc. When one conquers these tendencies, one attains the purity of mind, Sattva, indispensable for attaining moksha, liberation or realisation of the self and reaches the ultimate destination, Vaikuntha, which is the place or stage of no ‘kuntitha’ or. Vaikunta literally means no kunta or obstacle dullness, stupidity and misery a place where there is total auspiciousness, beauty and peace, free from the turmoils of the ephemeral world on Earth! ॐ नमो नारायणाय
Happy & Wonderful 2015 to you & your family. नया बरस आपके लियें खुशींयाॅं भर कर लाये।Regards Ashish Chadha
