is it possible to get a domain name point to a computer under resnet? if
so, what's our nameserver?

yes, and you have to get your own, or get a friend to host them for you.

or maybe there was no free registration at all. the "free
registration"attracts attention to their site, and then they
shut off the web server to traffic for the advertisedhour.
end result: people remember that they offerregistrations...

http://domainmonger.com/ offers domains for $17 a year.

No this was completely free. Me and my room mate both got domain names for
a year for free.
