1. 'Phi Beta Portal' by Rich Zapata of TUSC. Rich contributed the
Portal chapter in Brad Brown's 'Oracle 9i Web Development' book.
2. 'Online Database Block Size Rebuilds in Oracle 9i' by Kevin Loney of
TUSC. Kevin is one of the top DBAs in the country and most recently
the co-author of the 'Oracle 9i DBA Handbook' (with Marlene Therault).
Here is a short description of Kevin's presentation:
Oracle 9i offers support for multiple database block sizes in the same
tablespace. DBAs can use this feature to support rebuilding their
databases to a higher database block size while the database remains
online. This presentation will provide a demonstration of the steps
required to increase the database block size for almost all tablespaces
in an Oracle 9i environment. Topics covered include database quiescing,
supporting multiple block caches, using the Oracle-managed files
feature, and online object reorganization.
Don't forget to bring business cards!!! TUSC will have wonderful
posters and books on CD to give away.
