When I first set up Git for Windows (v2.5.1), I selected "Use a TrueType font in console windows" (I actually always do, and configure my defaults accordingly). Git setup gladly destroyed my preferences by setting up a TrueType font it fancies more for all console windows there is.

This time, upgrading to 2.6.2, I was careful not to repeat the past error and unchecked the option. Git setup gladly destroyed my preferences by setting up a raster font of it's own liking.

Is this just a bug, or a blatant violation of the Least Surprise Principle? Do not get me wrong, I am truly thankful for the Setup not changing my desktop color theme and power saving options, but messing with the console font is not that nice either...

Please log a bug for this [1].

I'd say the installer should follow this logic:

GfW is not installed AND the user opted to set a TT font; then change
the font. Otherwise do not touch this setting at all.
