Sorry this is the second time I'm doing this as I'm not sure if the last message posted to the group or not.

During installation, Git v2.33.0 gets the error below on Windows 7 and git then does not work, whereas git v2.32.0(2) does not exhibit this problem:

Runtime error (at 325:1981)
Could not call proc.

Hopefully this is helpful for people and towards someone fixing the problem.

Thanks

When I installed v2.33.0 on Windows8.1, the same error message was shown and the Git bash shows
" ln: failed to create symbolic link '/etc/mtab': Permission denied" and the similar error messages "Permission denied".

I want to downgrade Git for Windows.
Where is that?

Thanks,
Takahiro

Hi,

I found "all releases" link from the footer and downgraded to v2.32.0(2).
It is now ok.

Hi G M,
The information was not actually enough to investigate further. But
another contributor opened a ticket at
https://github.com/git-for-windows/git/issues/3368 and worked with other
contributors on figuring everything out.

There will be a new Git for Windows version soon, with the fix.

Ciao,
Johannes
