Since the update to 0.21.GITGUI / 2.24.1.windows.2, I get the following errors when opening a git bash window:

chmod: changing permissions of '/dev/shm': Permission denied
chmod: changing permissions of '/dev/mqueue': Permission denied
rm: cannot remove '/etc/post-install/01-devices.post': Permission denied
rm: cannot remove '/etc/post-install/03-mtab.post': Permission denied
rm: cannot remove '/etc/post-install/06-windows-files.post': Permission denied
rm: cannot remove '/etc/post-install/99-post-install-cleanup.post': Permission denied

Everything seems to work fine so I'm not sure if there are spurious warnings or something is broken.

Hi Robert,
Work-around: open Git Bash once as an administrator.

This _should_ have been done as part of the installation (a hidden Bash is
run as administrator at the end), but apparently that is not working...

To help diagnose this, maybe you can run the installer using the
`/LOG=<filename>` option and inspect the log whether it contains any
obvious hint as to what went wrong?

Ciao,
Johannes

Hi Johannes,
Many thanks for your help. The work-around fixed the problem and I
haven't had any errors since. I have the latest version installed but I
tried re-installing it with the LOG option. I couldn't see any sign of
any problems in the log file. I'll try logging the next couple of
releases but I've done countless updates before and never seen any issues.

Regards,

Rob.
