git version 2.34.0.windows.1 has worse colors than git 2.29.2.windows.2

Why are the colors worse ? Why are they darker ? Also the font has changed and takes more space on the screen.

Git 2.29.2.windows.2 was nice and bright and had true cyperpunk feel to it.

Git 2.34.0.windows.1 is dark and dead/dying like old grandpa is puffing out it's last smoke...  looks like there is something wrong with my eyes, it's so dark.

Please revert colors back to git 2.29.2

The options screen is also totally different.

Can't even see how the old colors were setup compared to new ones.

Clicking color scheme designer has no effect, bug ? does it depend on gpu ?

Oh my god it goes to a firefox webbrower window how lame...

Please do not put weblinks inside windows guis... without warnings... webbrowesers very junky right now and can cause all kinds of problems.

Bye for now,

I think this problem is caused by using cmd.exe option at installation time.

The windows 7 is using mintty... now I want to change windows 11 to mintty too... so I don't need to change registry keys to change cmd colors...

Kinda surprising that cmd.exe can also work with this command prompt... another disadventage of cmd is the *- problem.

It would suck if I have to install mintty seperate this again can cause all kinds of compability problems.

Next install it so users can switch more easily...

Bye for now,

Mintty is installed:

"C:\Tools\Git\usr\bin\mintty.exe"

Didn't see it at first...

Following this tutorial:

I find it weird how c:\tools\git contains launchers...

Gonna give this a try:

Next right click on the windows shortcut for Git Bash. Change the target to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Git\bin\mintty.exe" /bin/sh --login -i. If you installed git to a different location, you will need to use your installed path.

Weird stuff

This is a totally different shortcut then on windows 7... this is probably going to introduce new problems like not being able to customize window but perhaps I am wrong.

Bye,
  Skybuck.
