Cloud Foundry authentication errors (Bad Credentials) when using cygwin gitbash

I ran into an issue in authentication issue (Bad Credentials errors) using cloud foundry cf login or cf auth on git for windows. The authentication did not ask for password and skipped the prompt to use only the username locking the destination cloud account. While searching out on the internet I found this post from Bill Appleton from 2014 on the ibm developer blog of this being an issue with cygwin included in gitbash. https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/23299/my-cf-login-is-not-working.html

This issue is resolved by using windows command prompt instead while installing git on windows. 

Also I noticed that versions I've downloaded and used v2.5.0 and v2.10.0 the 64bit install package defaults to the first option of Use Git from Git Bash only,where as the 32 bit version defaults to Use Git from Windows Command Prompt. Ensuring that I am using the second option of using Git from windows command prompt helped my peers.
