  • I am operating from a Win 8.1 64 bit PC operating environment;
  • PC is operating a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200 CPU @ 2.20GHz processor;
  • 8 GB of ram is installed;
  • Installed latest 2.6.3 64bit Git for Windows, released on 2015-11-10;
  • I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application thrice;
  • Also tried 32bit Git for Windows as well.
  • Download site http://git-scm.com/download/win
Did anyone else encounter a similar issue?  I don't think it's a memory issue with my PC.

All 3 related Git packages are installed in same directory.
The only other recent new installations I have are the Github and R applications.  So I tried uninstalling/installing GitHub desktop from GitHub again as well.  GitHub desktop is for Wind 7 and above.

Git is the only application having a glitch for me right now, whenever I launch it.  I also tried closing all other applications before I launch it but still to no avail.

This might be related to https://github.com/git-for-windows/git/issues/348
but it still has too little information for me to wager a guess as to the
root cause.

Ciao,
Johannes
