git help in Edge

When my default browser was Firefox, I could type something like "git help branch" and the help for "branch" would appear in Firefox. Now that I've switched to Edge, it doesn't work. The address bar shows "c/Program%20Files/Git/mingw64/share/doc/git-doc/git-branch.html" with the quote marks included, which obviously makes no sense. How do I get git to use a local file URL syntax that Edge understands?
