Git commands take 5 minutes

Hi there, 

I've recently installed git for windows, but it is terribly slow in executing commands. A simple git config --global --list takes about 5 minutes to complete (literally). The trace does not show much (see below). My colleague installed it as well and with him it works within a second. I tried some different configurations, removing cached credentials in Windows Credential Manager (as suggested in some bug report), re-installed the whole thing, but nothing seems to help. Any ideas about what I can further inspect are much appreciated.

Same issue for me  at the same point. 

GIT 2.39.2 works without any issue

GIT 2.40.0 is very slow :( ot the same point

Hi there,

As a followup: I installed the 32-bit version and that worked without problems. Not ideal, but at least it gave me a workaround.

Could you please chime in in [1]? It looks like dealing with the slowness.

It's better to help debug the problem as the 32-bit version will inevitably be
phased out soon.
