Hello there git-cola friends,

I want to invite everyone to check out the really cool visualization
enhancements Guillaume has been cooking in his fork over on github:

https://github.com/gdebure/git-cola/tree/GraphView

This is really exciting stuff and hopefully it'll be in the next
git-cola release, v1.8.1.

Check out the screenshot. It's not quite ready yet, but it's already
looking really nice!

Hi David,

Thanks for sharing this :)

The latest commit is quite close to what I had in mind, maybe you'd like to
assess whether it's good enough for merging ?

On the longer term, I would like my git workflow to be more centered on the
dag, ie :
* Be able to visualize all branches (as you can do in gitk)
* Checkout branches
* Merge branches
* Search / Filter commits
* Open Commit dialog box
* ...

Would that be in line with your idea of how git-cola should behave, or is it
too different ?

Cheers,

Guillaume

I think it looks great. I think it's actually odd that fit cola dag
fires up gitk for various operations, even though I use gitk all the
time. The main reason I think the git cola dag is not redundant to
gitk is because the graph is the focus (as opposed to the succession
of commits) so its easier to visualize the project history, especially
branches and merges.
