Hey all,

Diana Sinton (dsi...@ucgis.org) asked me to pass on the following COGO message to the user group.  They would dearly love to hear from you.  Thanks for considering.

Karl

This summer, the Coalition of Geospatial Organizations (COGO, https://cogonetwork.org/) has been collecting information about the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) from audiences across the United States. The survey results serve as key input to the assessment of the NSDI that COGO coordinates every four years. The federal agencies responsible for coordinating the production and facilitating the distribution of the geospatial data components of the NSDI are some of the greatest proponents of this assessment, as they value the important feedback and external perspectives it provides on their efforts.

Our small ask is that you spend 15 minutes sharing your thoughts about the NSDI and some of its critical data themes. Every survey response that COGO receives is valued input that will be incorporated into our NSDI assessment.  The survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/COGO_2026_NSDI_Survey and will remain open until August 15, 2026

Best,
Diana

p.s. Not quite sure about what the NSDI is?  The NSDI is the nation’s shared mapping system. It makes sure that when someone needs reliable location data, whether for emergency management, planning new roads, tracking environmental changes, or building apps, they can access trusted, consistent, easy-to-use information. Check out this great series of podcasts that NSGIC is producing (https://nsgic.org/events-news/nsdi-podcast/).
