Hi there!

I am working on my master thesis about spatio-temporal displacement of elephants due to anthropogenic disturbances.
One method used is satelite data from collared elephants.

I received 2x shp. where was calculated 50%, 90% ETD home range to determine occupancy, using data from females and males during some period of time.
ETD quantifies the amount of time spent by an elephant per unit area that provides more fine-scaled insight of el. spatio-temporal distribution.

My question is, what can I do with these 2 shp. that are (I think) final product, since these are just 2 polygons, with no data in attribute table, in attribute table, thera only Desired per (0,5 ; 0,9), Shape Lenght  and Shape Area. I is possible work with these shp. further ? I would like to do some heat maps - higher concentration - low concentration per time unit, or see some temporal patterns.
Or is there any way, how can I "tranfer" these final polygons into "elephants routs" maybe?

Thank you very much in advance for comments, suggestions, answers.

Cheers
Romana

you can make a buffer to analyze the routes in relation of the areas

or you can make an unit info to assign to a pixel in a geotiff archive
