Hello All,
I've been asked to poll everyone to find out the following.
(1) Do you plan to return for the Fall Season?
(1a) If yes, please include your child's name, jersey number and
jersey size needed.
(1b) If yes, please indicate any changes in contact information.
(2) Do you like the current format?
(2a) If no, would you like a different Coach?
(2b) If no, what would you like to see changed? Please include
any suggestions you may have of how to carry out the changes. e.g. I
will volunteer to...
If you would like your answers to remain anonymous, you may email me
directly at dlso...@gmail.com and I'll keep your answer
confidential. If it's me that you're not satisfied with and you would
like to remain anonymous, please communicate with someone you trust
and have them communicate your concerns with me or Ken.

(1) Yes, we will be returning.
(1a) Darian Foley - #10 - YM
(1b) No changes in contact info.
(2) There could be improvement in the scheduling department but I
think that has already been brought to the attention to those in
charge of that.
(2a) I'm very happy with the progress Darian has made under Ken
and would like for her to continue learning from him.
(2b) The only suggestion I have is maybe have a separation of
duties with the scheduling. It's my belief that the Coach's only
responsibility should be to "coach" the team. Someone could compare
Ken's other schedules with ours at the beginning of the season to
ensure there will be no conflicts and if rescheduling occurs, ensure
that the rescheduled game doesn't conflict as well. This person would
ideally have the contact information for all of the other teams to
ensure everyone is made aware of any last minute changes. I would be
willing to volunteer for this, if no one else is willing, but I'm also
the team manager for our recreational team and I work full time. So
any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think this could be a great experience for the girls once we get all
of the kinks worked out.

(1) Yes, we plan on returning in the fall.

(2) I am mostly happy with the current format.
(2a) I am happy with the progress I saw in Rylie.
(2b) I would like to have a higher level of communication.
I realize that many of the scheduling and game problems were the result of weather conditions. As far as a parent taking care of the scheduling, I believe that is the responsibility of the league and the coach. It seems to me that these conflicts are something that should be worked out between the leagues before the season begins. I realize that weather sometimes changes schedules, but that boils down to communication between the team coaches and the leagues. They do not
need parents calling all the different leagues to work out a conflict in the coach's schedule.

Things I would like to see addressed in the fall. Some are issues, others are ideas for improvement:
(1) coordination with BAYFA and other rec leagues to stabilize the schedule.
(2) a time bracket that is dedicated to the Academy groups -- agreed upon by each of the city associations. This will not be violated even in the event of weather make-up games.
(3) improved rain-out communication plan
(4) academy organization needs to develop a "sign-off" sheet via website when both coaches and referee acknowledge game date, time, and location. Want to avoid us being the only ones showing up for a game.
(5) direct communication from Ken to parents instead of via an intermediary. This would speed up the communication channels.
(6) Skills sessions where the team works together instead of being split up randomly
(7) team to sign up for area tournaments
(8) team play "friendly" matches against other clubs/teams outside our league but still within our area. Glorified scrimmages.
(9) player-specific homework/instruction on what to develop
(10) goals for each girl to have achieved by the end of the season based upon current skills
(11) less time waiting in lines during drills, more time with the ball at their feet

After much discussion with my family and debating with myself, we have
decided to move Darian to NFWASA because it's so much closer to our
home. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have really enjoyed
playing with you all and making new friends. I've alreay called Ken
and let him know that we greatly appreciate all he did for Darian this
past season.
If you would like to stay in touch with me or Darian, please feel free

FYI, Darian has a birthday coming up 08/16. I'll let you all know
when and where her party will be, if you would like to attend.

We hate to see you go. I really appreciate all the work you did last season with the academy team. It will be weird to play against Darian, but will be fun to see you guys.

Has anybody had success in signing up for Academy? I keep getting an error message saying that Academy is not available for that age group. Would love to know what I am doing wrong.
