Hi.
I am interested in offering a Madison South Rotary volunteer opportunity associated with Camp Randall and the Badgers that pays $500 a year to a group of youngsters you may know. Right now, I have a need for volunteers to help at the Madison South Rotary Brat Stand during the 2nd quarter of the Badger game on 11/23 to HELP PUT EVERYTHING AWAY AFTER serving food/beverages that day. This is a clean up event with minimal public facing activity. It is a job 4 coordinated adults can do working hard in one hour. We offer this work to youth groups such as the Oregon Interact Club (like Kiwanis) for high school age kids or the LaFollette Interact Club. They are unavailable and not willing to commit to the long term for these two events. This is easily an activity two cars of “us” can do under my supervision that day. Delaney is on-board and Shawn is possibly on-board if the timing of the game is right. This volunteer event pays $250 for the 1st game of the season and the last game of the season. Today I am looking for two cars of people to help and want to send you $250 for your help.
Can you please ask if anyone else in the troop (or your circle) is interested in spending 3 hours of their Saturday (including drive time) on 11/23, during the 2nd quarter of the Badger game, across the street from Camp Randall doing the following activities?
Eat brats and/or burgers
Drink soda, water, powerade
Clean off table tops and put condiments away in totes/trash
Break-down boxes
Pick up trash and put trash/recyclables in the two dumpsters on-site
Fold up tables and load them into trailers (they are on-site)
Empty trash cans and bring them to the trailer (there are 2 enclosed 6x10 trailers) see our Madison South Rotary Brat Stand facebook page for pictures.
Roll up advertising signs on the fence and label with duct tape and sharpies
Roll up extension cords
Adults can help with:
Loading heavy tables into one 6x9 trailer
Loading chairs, buckets, and other stuff into the trailer
Typically me: load the grills, propane, fence, trash cans into the 2nd trailer…also the bigger extension cord and water, mobile sink.
Really that is it. It is basically a 1 day camp site. Typically two cars of Oregon kids show up with parents and help us Rotary folk put stuff away. I would be responsible for the supervision and direction.
This is possibly a LONG TERM commitment of volunteer work and $500/year funding for any youth and community oriented organization.
Please let me know if we can assemble a team on short notice for 11/23.
Thank you,
Scott Braun, CMA MBA
