Hi everyone,
I couldn't be more excited to report back to everyone on this--we have booked a date for our overnight at the PHILADELPHIA ZOO! Troop 40212 will be overnighting at the Philly Zoo (for you non-eastern PA natives, that's what we call it) on JULY 23RD. As part of our package, we will be earning a badge, sleeping overnight in one of the zoo classrooms, and get free parking and free admission the next day, July 24th.

As for that nitty-gritty cost thing: The cost is $60 per person, adults and kids alike. We need a minimum of 20. We also need quite a few drivers. This is how we are going to divvy up costs--I am going to ask Jess to figure out how much of each girl's fall product sales and cookie sales came back to the troop. If your girl brought in $60 to our troop, then the only thing you would be responsible for is your admission if you (the parent) want to go. If your daughter is shy of the $60, then we will be asking you to make up the difference. We may also do another money-earning activity, as some portion of our troop participated in the two product sales. So please plan on coming out and helping if we do another money-earning activity and you would like to join in on this really cool trip.

If you are on the fence: Philadelphia Zoo is the oldest zoo in the country, and a pioneer in conservation programs (including the one for the Golden Lion Tamarin). We are talking 42 acres with 1300 animals, many rare and endangered. We are talking a big cat area, very endangered animals area, small mammals house, reptile house, bear country, a rebuilt primate area, etc. And if you generally consider Philly too far away to take the whole family to, this is your girl scoutin' reason to go.

Yours in Scouting,
Elizabeth

 Girl Scout Parents

On Tuesday, June 4th, we are having a Badge Ceremony and Potluck Dinner at Toni Irvin's house - 430 South Nixon Road.  The girls will be transported from school to my house by the leaders and have a meeting from 3:30-5:00 pm.    Parents are asked to attend the badge ceremony at 5:00 pm and stay for the Potluck Dinner following the ceremony from 5:30-6:30 pm.

At the meeting last Friday, we asked many of you for your RSVP to the potluck and began to organize the food list for the meal.   Please review the list to be sure that we have the correct information.  You may also want to bring along some lawn chairs -- we'll have some tables set up but may not have enough chairs for everyone.

Mikalya   4 Mac n cheese, condiments
Colleen 2 chips & napkins
Evie 4-5 hamburgers & cheese
Kylie 3 baked beans

Gabi hamburger rolls

If your daughter intends to stay in girl scouts next year, please bring along your checkbook so that you can complete the registration forms for next year.  Thank you!!
