to Girl Develop It Columbus
Recently, I was talking to someone interested in GDI about how I
wanted to start collecting our students' and teachers' experiences in
the context of the larger discussion about women in technology. I
thought about starting to video record those willing, but then I
thought why not open it up to everyone? So I created a website called
the High Visibility Project to do just that. However, we need videos
to fill it up! So if you're a woman who has a story to tell about
learning or working in technology, I would love it if you would create
a short video and submit it to the site. After we get a few
submissions in there, I'm going to launch it to the world at large.
The goal is creating a repository of visible women role models to
encourage girls in tech, as well as providing information and
experiences directly from women in the field to have a conversation
about. Think of it as something similar to the It Gets Better Project,
except for women in technology.

Students and teachers, it would be great if you could create a video
talking about your GDIC experiences - good and bad. You could also
talk about what drew you to GDIC in the first place, or what your
future plans and goals are. Guys, if you have an unique insight on
diversity in tech to share, we'd love your video submissions, too. :)

If anyone has any questions or problems with the submission process,
please just let me know and I'd be happy to help!
