I have disabled the wireless by holding down the button for 5 seconds, and printed the configuration page to verify it was disabled. However, whenever a laptop is near it still picks up the wireless signal coming from the printers.

Issue was resolved by HP Chat support. Had to shut the printer down, hold the wireless and cancel buttons together and power the printer back on. Wait for all the lights to flash together and then let the buttons go.

We need a method to set the "default" to wireless disabled. We cant have any wireless emitters in our work environment now. So I have 8 of these printers that are now useless unless I can disable the wireless entirely.

It isn't a laserjet.. just and inkjet.. that does not require wireless.. but some how.. it got involved with.. hp wireless set up.. I frankly don't know how they used it in the past.. and that may not even be the problem.. I just know.. HP .. has it.. involved somehow and it seems as a laserjet wireless.. and that may not be the problem either.. i just know it worked before and now it doesn't.. so.. I thought since for now since I don't have a router any more and am not using this computer as wireless.. maybe I could disable the wireless because it keeps popping up and not responding to anything I click on.. what is the answer.. i wish I knew.. is this hp compaq presarioCQ56 have to have the connection for the .. if nothing else for now.. the driver updates.. and ..?.. the paper work on it was not given to me when they gave it to me.. so I am in the dark.. thanks for any help ..

I believe you need to hold down the [CANCEL] and [WIRELESS] buttons then press power to turn on the printer, not after its already turned on. Mine would not reset but holding them down as I powered up worked!

Also to connect my wireless the software by HP would not setup my wireless on the printer. I had to do it manually by going into the products embedded web page. Obviously 99% of HP tech support will say this is only possible after it is connected to your wireless but how is that possible if you cannot set it up??

During setup there is an option that comes up on the wireless discovery method screen. Click on the link that says "Access your product's embedded webpage". This will let you get to your printer's config page via USB! HP tech support did you catch that? Sorry I am just frustrated how long it took me to figure that out even with their support.

After a long time trying a lot of things, including suggestions on this thread, the solution that worked for me and may work for you was replacing the ARRIS TG862 router with a Thomson one (model DWG850, I think). Good luck!

I suspect this is a problem with the leases given to DHCP clients by routers. I noticed this problem with my HP inkjet printer too. As I only used it occasionally when I turned it on after a few weeks of not using it the wireless connection had reset. I suspect this is because the IP address given to the printer by the router has a lease to stop other machines using it - however eventually the lease will expire (depending on what each router's setting is). As I used many other new machines wirelessly it is likely that one of them was assigned the expired IP address of the printer which would therefore cause proplems when it is eventually woken up.

I have a P1102W which was working fine wirelessly until it wasn't. I am using an AT&T Uverse 2Wire router and Windows Vista. I haven't changed anything and one day the network would not recognize the wireless printer. I have powered down (unplugged) everything and powered back up with no success. I have uninstalled and tried to reinstall the printer, and just get a message that the network was unable to connect to the printer. The printer will work when connected with a cable, but the blue wireless indicator light just blinks and then goes off - indicating that there is no wireless signal. All other wireless devices and printers on this network work just fine. HP support was no help, due to the warranty having been expired 2 DAYS ago! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Since the software is already installed then I would setup the wireless again by connecting the printer by usb to the computer.

Then go to start, all programs, hp, laserjet, wireleless configuration wizard, follow the steps to setup the wireless. (make sure the computer is on the correct network)

Then try and print.

I'm sorry to hear that your Laserjet P1102w is loosing connection to your wireless network. I understand you have tried disconnecting the power and reconnecting it, restored to defaults and assigned it a static IP.

A4 and A5 are about the paper size a printer or device is designed to manage. The A4 size is 8.27 inches by 11.69 inches, compatible with the standard U.S. letter size 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches.
