The easy way is to go into your BIOS and in the Device Configuration menu, change your SATA Native Mode from enabled to disabled. Hit the F10 key there and upon exiting the BIOS when you save your settings and exit.
14. Click Open
15. This will list several SATA AHCI Controllers. From this list, select Intel ICH8 SATA AHCI Controller (I am not sure as the the specific one if there is more than one (Pick the one that is closest to the name of the controller in your device manager). Click Next.
16. The Update Driver Warning will be shown. Click Yes
17. The driver will install, and completing the Hardware update Wizard appears. Click Finish
18. You can find the updated controller in the device manager.
19. During restart, press the F10 key and boot to BIOS setup utility . Go back to your device configurations sub menu and change the SATA Native Mode back to Enabled, save settings there (F10) and upon exit, save changes and reboot.
If you happen to own an AMD chipset laptop (mine is Compaq CQ58-305ew with AMD A68M FCH chipset), you have to slipstream the AMD SATA driver into a Windows XP SP3 installation disc. Use the (fresh!) driver from Lenovo: It worked for me and totally solved my problem.
Hi, I recently installed a i3-12100f on a Asus prime B660-PLUS D4. I installed every driver available on the download page for my motherboard and cpu, and still don't have any driver for the Sm bus controller. After using the intel chipset software installation utility, I got the error : 0x00004E24 This platform is not supported. Is this a problem with my windows installation ? I was curious if there was a fix before reinstalling my OS. Thank you

Hi. I am trying to download some Nortons' software to my computer. The install cannot be completed due to a driver issue. I am running on Windows 10 OS and have an AMD A9 7th Gen chipset. I have a Standard SATA AHCI Controller installed but I need the AMD SATA Controller to enable the software to work. Is there a way I can fix this? I have tried the options that the Norton site gives me but no joy. I am a newbie and need some advice please. All help greatly appreciated.
Run it and see if it installed the AMD SATA Controller driver in Device Manager under "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller" . If it didn't, go to the Standard SATA AHCI Controller to "Properties" and click on Update Driver. Direct it under search to the C:\AMD Chipset folder in the Root Directory. Hit enter and it should update the SATA Controller to AMD SATA.

Hi, I got a MSI A68HM-E33 V2 motherboard and i need to chipset drivers for some reasons but i didnt find it anywhere on AMD website, i know its an old product and it might be ended support but still there must be old drivers etc. Thanks.
This chipset driver is designed for AMD Ryzen CPUs and uses the AMD Socket AM4/5, a modern system that supports the quickest DDR4/5 memory, PCIe 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 as well as NVMe tech out there. It's also the first to have built-in USB 3.2 Gen2 in a chipset. This means faster direct connections for things like hard drives (SATA) and USB devices, and it can be adjusted to fit different needs. The AM4 platform is built to handle today's advanced features and those coming in the future.
Windows OS automatically installs a generic driver that allows computers to recognize basic motherboard functions. However, to make use of all board components, appropriate chipset drivers must be applied. If you install this package, the system will receive related information regarding the chipset. Also, this step might improve compatibility and bus transfer speeds, add various changes for sleep state behavior, power saving functionality and others, or include support for new features. To apply this release, simply make sure your system configuration is supported by this package, get the file, run the available setup, and follow the on-screen instructions. Bear in mind that installing inappropriate chipset drivers can cause computers to malfunction. In addition to that, do perform a system restart after you have completely applied the present release so that all changes take effect. Despite the off-chance that other OSes might be compatible, we do not recommend installing any software on platforms other than the highlighted ones.
