Welcometo IGN's guide for Resident Evil 4 Remake. This page contains information on the eighth chapter in the game, including how to get solve the Bindery Lithograph Puzzle, get through the Battlements and defeat the Armored Gigante.
Note that this guide for the Remake differs from the original Resident Evil 4 Walkthrough in many ways, as Chapter 8 is comparable in length to that of Chapter 3: Part 2, though certain encounters, enemies, and story elements have changed. In fact, much of this chapter involves areas not traversed in the classic version of Resident Evil 4!
When you regain control, Leon will be Ashley-less, with no way to reach her beyond the locked gate. Instead, head north from the sealed Courtyard entrance, and be sure to check out the gazebo and pond.
Crouch through the doorway to take stock of the situation: A red-robed Zealot with a staff will do an incantation to spawn the Plaga Mandibula from two Zealots, while many more watch on all sides. You have two major options here: Go in guns blazing, or use stealth to thin the ranks.
Remaining crouched, slowly head right along the back wall, and then up the right side moving slowly. Leon should make a note about being stealthy if things are going well, leading you to a side room with two sets of stairs. Ignore the ones up to the stage, and look right for stairs up to the upper walkway above the wine cellar.
From this vantage point, you can spot two more crossbow-toting Zealots on either side, and one of them is standing by a green crank attached to the chandelier high above. It would be a shame if someone were to tamper with it.
Carefully clear out the other two crossbow Zealots up on the walkway, and then ready your rifle. Interact with the winch, and it will cause the chandelier to crash down below and instantly kill the two Plaga Mandibula without you firing a shot!
Before the other zealots can react to this, pull out your rifle, and unload on the lead Zealot on stage before he can get behind cover or cause you to stagger around, and this will free you up to take on the rest of the Zealots (of which there are still quite a few) without interference. For an added bonus, you can check the stairway or the ladder on the opposite side of the walkways for red explosive barrels to hit when the other Zealots come looking for you.
As soon as the Plaga gets knocked to the ground, swap to your pistol to fire a few follow up shots to explode the parasite before it can rise up and jump back on. With the Plaga dead, the Zealot will be much easier to handle.
When you drop back down to the lowest level with Moon Doors opened, the door at the end of the hall the scythe Zealot was guarding should now be open, and after dealing with another Zealot, you can check the other side hall for a red chest holding an Ornate Necklace.
For now, look for yet another moon door (that should be open, but a lever next to it will do the job if not), and head up the next stairwell to the battlement roof. As you explore your surroundings, a new threat will emerge: The Armored El Gigante.
Jump down instead to the ramparts leading back to the first battlement tower you explored (the one you shot the counterweight to open the door), and look to the left to shoot another counterweight out here so you can get back inside to the second battlement tower.
Ready your weapons, because the moment you reach the next broken battlement, a Zealot will be waiting on the right, and another one with a shield will start staggering across from the far side. A magnum or shotgun should dissuade him from giving you too much trouble.
Turn around as soon as you hit the ground, as there are Zealots on both sides of this lower platform. The one closest to you is right behind you and could use a shotgun to the face, while the far one will have to race forward and likely be killed by a rock salvo before reaching you.
If you kept the Small Key on your person found earlier instead of going back to the Bindery, you can find a locked drawer behind the ladder up to the next level. Using the Small Key here will get you access to the Ornate Beetle treasure!
On the next floor up via the ladder, watch out for a Zealot who guards this floor. Defeat her and then look next to the sealed rampart gate to find another counterweight to destroy, bringing the cannon up to the roof level, and take the stairs up to follow it.
There is a close connection between the first two. Indeed, the effectiveness of (1) depends on (2), and the selection of a base depends on how it will be used in (1). Both offer significant improvements in the backtrack searches that have been discussed. The importance of (3) and (4) depends on the problem.
The algorithms for the construction of centralizers, normalizers, intersections, and set stabilisers have been presented. The techniques of this chapter are also used in the construction of the automorphism group of a group.
Resident Evil 4 Remake has a special challenge that you can tackle throughout the campaign. In it, you'll need to find Clockwork Castellans, little toy soldiers that can be shot. If you manage to destroy all 16, you'll receive a nifty reward. Here's our Resident Evil 4 Clockwork Castellans guide to help you with all their locations so you can acquire the Primal Knife.
The Resident Evil 4 Clockwork Castellans are found in all three major zones: Village, Castle, and Island. These toy soldiers emit a unique sound: a squeaky, ticking noise, as if gears are spinning around, letting you know one is near. Likewise, you'll tend to discover at least one in every chapter, and you can backtrack in most (not all) instances, unless there's a point of no return. Likewise, please be reminded that our Resident Evil 4 Clockwork Castellans guide contains spoilers.
Once you've destroyed all 16 Clockwork Castellans, you'll complete the Revolution Wind-Up challenge. Moreover, you can unlock the Resident Evil 4 Primal Knife by buying it in the Bonus Content Shop for 1,000 completion points.
The Resident Evil 4 Primal Knife has average power and great durability, but what makes it special is its unique perk. Once you've fully boosted it, or if you use a Weapon Upgrade Ticket, you'll make it indestructible. It won't break no matter how many times you slash, stab, and parry with it. This is useful if you're planning on doing "Knife Only" runs.
I mean if I do chapter select and I select chapter 3, then when the game autosaves I will not be able to go to chapters 6, 7 or 8, for example. If I create a manual save, I will be able to load it and go to whatever chapter I want but when I load that save, I will lose the collectables I got through chapter select - autosave (since I'm not loading this autosave but the manual save I did before catching those collectables), right? So how do I do it?
You can reload the manual save from the end of the game to get back access of chapter select and keep the collectibles. They are saved on you profile save and count across all game saves. So simply load a chapter via chapter select, get the collectibles and reload your manual save while keeping the collected stuff.
Load the autosave after beating the game. Check chapter select on what you are missing (I had to write some down) and start at the end of the game and work backwards so you don't have to keep loading your autosave.
the collectibles are saved in your "completed savedata" what you need to do is go to any level via chapter select get the remaining collectibles quit then load the "completed savedata" the number of the collectibles on the save doesn't matter you will see that you earned them in chapter select screen..Good Luck
i've completed the game and did a ng+ playthrough to finish all upgrades & weapons and got a few coins i missed, how do i transfer them over to my completed save so that i can use chapter select to get the last few coins remaining? do i just load up my completed save and they will be added?
I learned from earlier Naughty Dog games to go back through the games in reverse chapter order. This way you can go through the game on Easy or whatever first, then have all your guns and ammo from your easy save when you go back to complete the chapter on Crushing or whatever. Makes things a lot easier. There's no difficulty trophies here, but you could use the same concept to backtrack through chapters to get those collectibles.
Let's start with admitting this one fact: backtracking is hard. Or rather, understanding it the first time is hard.Or, it's one of those concepts that you think you grasped it, only to realize later that you actually didn't.
Then, we reach another fork in the path. We pick one of the paths again, and go on walking, then we reach a dead end. So, we backtrack to the last point we had a fork, then go through the other path that we didn't choose the first time.
Then we reach another dead end. So, we backtrack once more and realize that there are no other paths we can go from there. So we backtrack again, and explore the other path we didn't choose the first time we came to this point.
