I have loaded one item from the asset library into ArchiCAD. This works fine and have had no issues, however I have had no luck adding any other objects from the asset library. I can open the asset library, pick and place and item - but this is when the item simply doesn't show up in the model. Is there any reason why this would be happening?
I also had a question on managing lighting. Is there a 'for dummies' guide on this somewhere in the wide world of the internet? Looking for something ArchiCAD specific that uses the 'out of the box' library parts. I'm finding the lighting I put in washes out the scene, no matter what settings I change. Thanks!
Further, there is no ArchiCAD - Enscape guide regarding lighting yet. We plan to release a lot more tutorial videos in the future to target these areas and we know that there is demand for them as well. Maybe you could also send me a screenshot of the scene which seems washed out? In addition to that, you can also gladly send me the project of yours and let me know what you're trying to achieve lighting-wise and I can setup the scene accordingly.
We are having the same problem here. I am working with enscape 2.5 and archicad 22 in teamwork. I added a few enscape trees serveral weeks ago, but i can no longer add assets now. Thinh's workaround does work for me, but it is not ideal.
georgia.p , thinhpham , matthewbolton , DGD-Duane , we're currently busy with finding the cause behind this issue, so it would be very helpful if you could kindly send in a dedicated feedback report as described here! Please also add your forum name or the title of this thread in the submission from so that we can easily connect the data.
On top of that, it would be fantastic if you could also send the/a project alongside with which the asset placement is not working. You can simply add the link to download the project in the feedback report itself! The project can be, for example, uploaded to wetransfer, or anywhere you like.
I'll send a report with the feedback button. I found out today if i use 'reserve all' function in teamwork, then i am able to place assets normally. So it seems like there is a problem with the teamwork function and enscape asset placement. Unfortunately i cannot send out the file i am working on, but if i find some extra time i can see if i can reproduce the issue in a new project file.
I've been able to reproduce this issue. So I can now take a closer at what's happening and fix the behaviour. I can't give you a timeline on when I've been able to fix this as I've just now been able to reproduce this, but I just wanted to inform you that we're now working on a fix for this.
Could you briefly elaborate a bit further on what you're referring to with "is not working" exactly? Is this behavior related to this specific thread, or can you maybe simply not use our library due to connection problems? If it's the first, kindly try the short guide provided by Arne above.
The Archicad 25 Library always end up missing, randomly. For example, when I open a teamwork file today everything is okay and is in place but in the next days, the whole library is missing again and what's left would be is the embedded library and another library with the project name and inside are the only library parts currently in use and existing in the model.
Has anyone who has opened a project, found the libraries missing, gone and tried resetting their local files for the project? From my knowledge of TW it downloads the entire project to the local computer then just syncs changes. So maybe some bug in the syncing and just the libraries become desynced?
This Library Manager Dialog screenshot does not look good. Over 4000 warnings? There should be none, you should resolved all of them as they can cause all kinds of issues from performance issues to display and 2D/3D representation issues (e. g. when multiple versions of the same library part exist within the loaded libraries).
Also, is it the "Archicad Library 25.lcf" not located within the "Archicad Library 25" folder? Then it should not be loaded separately as it is already loaded as part of the "Archicad Library 25" folder.
Also, why are PLA files loaded as libraries? That is a bad practice. What kind of library parts are located in those PLA files that are not available in the other libraries? If there are project-specific library parts, those should be in the Embedded Library, not loaded from a PLA.
I can only close the project without saving and open it back up. Strg + Z doesn't work.
My library also says Warning(4). Picture of that is attached.
I can't find anything online as I dont even know what to look for.
Do you mean to add and lcf file or do you actually mean IFC? The library issues seem to be related to duplicate old and potentially incompatible parts being loaded as embedded objects. I think you need to try unloading all libraries and add the library from the current version of Archicad you are using, so the Archicad Library 25 for example and then load the Migration Libraries from the Graphisoft Archicad folder. If the file continues to crash try opening Archicad first then use the file open command and navigate to your file but before opening it check the box that says open and repair.
The Warning says that there are 4 Library Parts that each have two instanced in the libraries of the Project File. Under each of the 4 Library Parts, you will see where either of the duplicates are located.
trying to open a model from 2012/13 to work on a new project on the site......see above plan, plus screenshot of missing parts. I assume that these are from library would be related to version 12, but where is this library which was once accessible? Can I recover the library? Is it on my machine or perhaps on the original version 12 disc? OR do I have to remodel each door/window from photographic records?
If it didn't then you can link the missing libraries by opening "Library Manager", selecting "ADD" and going to your AC's installation Folder (location depends on OS) and looking under "Archicad Migration Libraries" and/or "Archicad Migration Libraries Old".
I recently installed Archicad 25 and just started working on a new project. I noticed, however, that some library parts appear to be missing. There no doors or ramps, for instance. The Library Manager states that the Archicad Library 25 is installed, but below it there is a list of missing parts. In the Library Manager Archicad Library 25 tab I can actually visualize the missing parts, so I'm not really sure what is going on.
Yes, I'm using a template I downloaded, but it was supposed to be a template for Archicad 25. I'm not sure about the languages versions, though. I suppose @Lingwisyer is correct, but I really don't understand enough about these technical differences in the software yet.
3rd party templates are often adjusted for their local standards such as naming conventions, story structure, page sizes, dimensions of predefined composites and profiles, etc so I would advise that you use a template from a local source, especially if you are new to the program, in order to reduce future headaches. Or if that template is a local one, can you use the use the localised AC version, AC25 POR, or download and load the US object library?
i am having the same problem with the door tool. being new to Archicad 25. can someone explain how i add the object library to the door tool. unlike the other object tools there are options to pick from on the left. all i get is the simple door opening
I recently spent a lot of time importing rfa's into gdl objects that I WAS able to use in my project. However, the objects are stadium seats that are heavy with polygons. Even when I import them, I select the lowest allowable polygon count. The problem is it will only allow me to import them into the Embedded Library, and I want them in the Archicad Library because it is slowing down the works tremendously. How can I move them, and delete them from the Embedded Library?
@walkinthepark You need to open the Library Manager, and at the top of the screen select [Embedded Library]. Select the sub folder if necessary and the file(s) you want to export, then in the bottom corner pick the outdated floppy disk icon with the blue arrow and save to the required folder. You will need to add the folder where you save the files to your loaded libraries. If you load the new folder to the same project as contains the embedded files you will be warned about the duplicates.
After exporting the files (objects) from the embedded library into the Archicad library, in new folders, I can't find the objects or the folders in the Archicad OR the embedded libraries. I must have made a wrong turn somewhere. One thing that confused me was when you talked about the outdated floppy disk icon-not sure where to find it or what it does?
You will need to create a folder on your hard drive external to AC. You will need to ADD this folder location to your loaded libraries once exporting is complete. The export icon is shown in the lower right of the attached image taken from the Library Manager dialog/window. Select the files you want to export then click the icon. You then need to navigate to the folder you created. Save the files and then add the folder to your library.
