Before working with any person or firm to trade in commodity futures, commodity pools, options, forex, or other derivatives, verify that the entity is properly registered with the CFTC. The Commodity Exchange Act requires certain firms and individuals to be registered with the CFTC. Registration and examination of intermediaries is conducted on behalf of the CFTC by the National Futures Association (NFA) under the supervision of the CFTC.
Submit a tip to the CFTC. If you believe an unregistered entity or individual is attempting to commit fraud, or has committed fraud, the information you provide could help save others from being victimized.
Products that use virtual currencies as the underlying commodity are regulated by the CFTC. Intermediaries that advise clients regarding virtual currency commodity futures or that facilitate trading in those instruments must be registered with the CFTC and NFA.
Websites or companies that offer customers the ability to purchase or trade virtual currencies on the cash or spot market are not required to be registered with the CFTC. However, the CFTC maintains general anti-fraud and manipulation enforcement authority over virtual currency cash markets.
Digital currency spot market trading companies are considered money service businesses (MSB) by the U.S. Treasury and must be registered with Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). Many states also require virtual currency trading websites to register as money transfer companies. Check the MSB Registrant Search to see if the digital currency trading company you plan to use is registered with FinCEN. Also check the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) to see if the company is registered in your state (click search results for a detailed view). The NMLS is operated by the Conference of State Bank Supervisors.
You may have fewer protections if you choose to trade with a company that is not registered with the CFTC and that operates offshore, and resolution of any issues or problems may require consulting foreign counsel.
Keep in mind that registration with the SEC does not guarantee that an investment will be a good one or immune to fraud. Likewise, lack of registration does not mean the investment lacks legitimacy. The critical difference is the extreme level of risk you assume when you invest in a company about which little or no information is publicly available. SEC registration carries a number of advantages for investors, including disclosure of financial and other information that can help investors assess whether to invest in a company's securities.
Regardless of which party you choose, the voting process is the same in a general election, which is when candidates are elected to offices. Your party affiliation impacts who you can vote for in primary elections and caucuses.
You can check your voter registration status anytime to make sure it is current, and you are eligible to vote in the next election. I created a Office Add-In in VS 2008, C#, .NET 3.5, and VSTO. It is deployed via ClickOnce. A run-time configuration form executes regsvr32 to register "fooapi.dll" included with the project that can not be registered during instal due to ClickOnce limitations. Is there any prefered way to check and see if "fooapi.dll" is registered during run-time in C#?
Check the presence of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\your_CLSID and the proper values under it. You could probably get away with looking for InprocServer32 and Codebase values only, but you might also opt-in for more extensive check.
I think the simplest way is to try and create the component which lives in fooapi.dll. Wrap the creation code in a try/catch block and catch the exception which is generated if the DLL is not properly registered. This is the surest way to check for correct registration
License Number Search Field: Enter NUMBERS ONLY without any leading zeroes. Do not enter alphabetical characters. Searching by License Number will locate results for that license number only. The same license number may be used for multiple license types, so double-check the license type on the search results to determine the appropriate discipline of licensure. If you wish, you may also include the License Type with the License Number by choosing from the drop down menu in the License Type Search Field.
Search Results: When the results of your search are returned, click on the license number link or the "More Details" button for further information regarding the license. If there are formal disciplinary actions against a licensee, that will be noted, and you will find a link to additional information about the enforcement action(s). PLEASE NOTE: Not all enforcement information is available online. We recommend that you contact the Board's Enforcement Unit at (916) 999-3593 or BPELSG.Enforcem...@dca.ca.gov to check on the status of the license even if the status is CLEAR.
