Since the release of the first RoboCop film in 1987, this science fiction franchise has garnered a significant fan base. Combining action, crime, and dystopian themes, it has become a cult classic in the genre. Over the years, several movies exploring the adventures of the iconic cyborg police officer have been produced. In this article, we will delve into the number of RoboCop movies that have been made and answer some frequently asked questions about the franchise.
Q: Are there any plans for future RoboCop movies?
A: As of now, no official announcements have been made regarding any upcoming RoboCop films. However, given the enduring popularity of the franchise, it is always possible that new projects may be developed in the future.
Rogue City is part of the popular RoboCop franchise. The original 1987 cyberpunk action film directed by Paul Verhoeven spawned merchandise, two sequels, a television miniseries, an animated series, two comic book adaptations, and several video games. The upcoming RoboCop game will see RoboCop and Officer Anne Lewis take on the Torch Heads, a gang with ties to the Nuke trade. Warren Reed, the tough, no-nonsense sergeant from the movies, is also slated to have a role in the game. Rogue City is a product of video games developer Teyon. Founded in 2006, Teyon has released nearly 100 games, its two most well-received of which are action titles that also feature 1980s intellectual property: Rambo: The Video Game (2014) and Terminator: Resistance (2019).
There's no more about that from drafts of the scripts or the movie transcript. Like many anticipation/SF movies, they set some background with big or small discrepancies between the two eras to back up the idea of it being in the future.
Now unaware of his former life, RoboCop follows Murphy as he slowly attempts to regain some semblance of his humanity, all while the movie takes satirical swipes at consumerism, capitalist greed, corporate corruption, and hyper-violent action movies.
Parents need to know that this movie is more of a bloodbath than you probably remember. Numerous characters are killed onscreen, many weapons are used, and there are some truly gruesome scenes, like when a policeman's hand and arm are shot off. Some characters snort cocaine, one off a woman's breasts; others commit crimes such as rape (attempted, taunting a woman with a knife before help arrives) and armed robbery. A corporation that controls the local police force is portrayed as corrupt. To stay in the loop on more movies like this, you can sign up for weekly Family Movie Night emails.
The Portuguese TV is playing (for the nth time) the 3 movies of the Robocop series.Yesterday there was one of them, and this reminds me that a while ago, I took a fewnotes on fantasy flags seen in these movies. The flags are those of two companies, the OCP, the company that built Robocop and that it keeps fighting, and a Japanese company called Kanemitsu, that in one of the moviesassociates with the OCP.

The flag of Omni Consumer Products Inc., the evil megaconglomerate,is a Nazi-like banner, seen several times in oneof the movies: Red with white disc and the black symbol of the company on the disc. The symbol is a graphical arrangement of the initials.

Well, here's what I'll say. We're not supposed to say too much. There's been a bunch of other RoboCop movies and there was recently a remake and I would say this would be kind of going back to the old RoboCop we all love and starting there and going forward. So it's a continuation really of the first movie. In my mind. So it's a little bit more of the old school thing.

In both the films and this game, Officer Lewis believes that Robocop is more man than machine. Anne Lewis brings some humanity to the cybercop and helps you through various in-game missions. It's great to see her character return to an original story that uses so many elements from the movies.
In 2014 the most powerful people on earth (Hollywood) decided to bless us all with a reboot of the original RoboCop. Taking some cues for the 1987 classic it brough Joel Kinnerman into the title role of Alex Murphy in a effort to again revamp the classic series. With a steller cast including Michael Keaton, Michael K Williams, Jack Earl Haley, Abbie Cornish, Sam Jackson it certainly tries some things but ultimately comes out feeling rather toothless.
