Visualize the big picture, share context, and make better decisions. From documentation to designs, survey results, videos, and live data, you can easily aggregate synced information from across your tech stack into a Miro board. All you need to do is to leverage our powerful integrations through Miro smart links.
Good you mentionned Chrome: for some reasons, I copied the links directly from the toolbar in Microsoft Edge and then straight onto the miro board. This creates a text with an embedded link.
But, if I first paste onto notepad, copy it again from the notepad and only then onto the miro baord : success !!
Here is the success:
For me it makes no sense why i have to switch my own created board to public access because i have invited my client to my own board.
It should be possible to link and embed to my own content without any limitations
I got the opposite challenge. I want to keep links relative to other items within the board, when I paste it it in to a new board. I created a separate question for this: -a-question-ask-the-community-45/is-there-a-way-to-make-links-stay-relative-to-different-items-when-pasting-in-to-a-new-board-512
My other use case is I want to embed just a frame of an existing board in Notion. However, Notion only embeds the entire board. I attempted to use the embed presentation link in Notion but the entire editable board was embedded instead. My workaround is to create a new board with the smaller section/frame of the original board but then I have to maintain the content in two places, unless of course we can embed boards.
You can set the initial view of the embedded board on either a specific board item, or a specific viewport.
Therefore, a direct link to embed a Miro board can include either moveToWidget or moveToViewport URL parameters.
It's not possible to specify both in the same direct link.
This is a perfect example how you can link and backlink to a section - of course miro does this not automaticly but this site is one of the best examples how the linking tool inside miro does a perfect job.
Scenario 1: I am on my navigation board and I want to create a new feature for my customers. I click to create a new board link and the board is created and the link added forward and backward.
Scenario 2: A colleague has finished his board presentation of a new product and has sent me the link. I paste his board link to the main company board and the two become linked forward and backward.
Scenario 3: A new CEO wants to see all of the company's product pages flat with links between them, he can click on a 3d or linked view of all projects in his domain and perhaps arrange them as he wants/needs to understand the business.
Helps to read Flatland. What I like is that Miro gives me X, Y, and while the Z is limited, it also provides time (activity). What it is missing here is a way to see the time (activity) across all projects and to search across all the activity to visualize what was created and linked during a certain month or related to a certain set of keywords/tags. Only enterprise customers have the search, right?
I just linked an item in a ToDo list to a meeting agenda frame .. when i followed it, i arrived at the agenda frame which already zoomed to fill the screen .. had to shrink the screen and find the ToDo list again .. really a pain ..why would you have a link where you cannot return to teh source? I dont buy the suggestions to program a return separately, each time you do a link .. I hope this feature, which is in almost every other piece of software, gets added.
Sorry @José M Aguirre (and welcome to the community, BTW!) - this is a current limitation with how the links work. There is a wish list topic here which you can upvote: -list-32/make-all-internal-miro-links-relational-by-default-736
There is a somewhat similar wish list topic here ( -list-32/hide-link-to-buttons-1656) which you could up-vote, but if you wanted to add a new wish list topic for being able to move the position of the link button on an object, you can add it following the guidelines here: Wish List: Everything You Need to Know ? Miro
Anchor links would let presenters reach a new level of focus by jumping immediately to the frame they want to emphasize on. There are quite a few other benefits to this small feature addition which I think is worth the work.
If we already have jira stories, is there a way to pull those into miro individually? Not from the 'program board' or a team board.
I'm seeing I can either convert a sticky to a jira story, or I can pull in a bunch in a program board and select the ones I wanted, but there doesn't seem to be a way to take an existing sticky or card and associate it to a jira story or feature.
Functions are either Convert or Import but no way to Link or change sticky type and associate existing.
Am I seeing this correctly?
When you use "Link to", Miro creates little blue arrow if the link is to an object on the current board. These links will also update to match the current board should you duplicate the board where the links were created, or use these links in a Custom Template.
When I install the Google Drive app from the Miro Marketplace, I had to select the Google Account I wanted to connect to. Once I do this, the Miro board link will be saved to the root of my Google Drive - I cannot change this. From there, I moved the linked board file to a folder that I have shared with another Google Account user and when I double-click the Miro board link in that shared folder, I still get the prompt to choose an app (Miro is the only choice I am presented with):
@Henrik Ståhl Thank you so much for sharing this example!! Love the quick and handy idea of linking people in an org chart to individual profile cards, will keep that in mind for future Miro Academy courses.
While you can use this to paste in a link to an object within the current (or another) board, if when the current objects are copy/pasted, the links will not automatically update. This is also true if you were to create a Custom Template of internally linked objects and use these on multiple boards, or if you were to Duplicate the board, or back it up to a .rtb file and later restore it.
When working with objects that include text, click the link icon on the context menu to insert a link into the text. You can also select some text and use Ctrl + V (for Windows)/Cmd + V (for Mac) to paste a link.
If you link two objects on a board via the Insert link option and then duplicate the board, the link on the board copy will lead to the original board. However, when you link two objects on the board via the Link to option and then duplicate the board, the link on the copy remains internal (it brings to the object on the same board).
I feel like I'm doing something really stupid, but I created a link from an object to another object, and when I click (or even double-click) on the link the object is selected instead of following the link.
After posting MIRO, there will be a material doc and accounting doc, if i want to see a list of link between MIRO material doc with accounting doc, what is the best method? Does this link stored in any table?
As I have the desktop app installed, it would be great if the Miro link opens the board in the desktop app, while the browser page can be something simple, or still offer the option to open it in the browser.
just checking link between FI document (FB02) and MIRO (MIR4). And when I changed in FI document - for example - BSEG - ZFBDT rewrite to another day - so this update is not see in MIR4 - there is still the old one.
I'm afraid there's no way to change the size of the clickable arrow icon that appears when you add a link to the widget on the board or select a specific size for it. In general, while working on the board, we recommend adding the content to the board on a 100% zoom level for the optimal experience. Should you work on this or slightly lower zoom, the icon should be visible quite well.
Done! :)

When I view the HTML source of the page, I see that it is using the Open Graph protocol, which allows the webpage to specify an image to be used as a thumbnail for the site, and in turn, Miro has built their paste-a-website-URL functionality to check for this protocol/tag and use the image in the shortcut/link that is created on the board. Here is the og:image tag from the above link to the community
Hey, just wanted to join in and say that the issue is still at large. Both for external and internal links. We tested it with several people and got the same results as mentioned above. Hope this is fixed soon...
In Coda, you can draw on an embedded Miro board (after authenticating), and the edits will be visible in your doc, as well as on your board at miro.com. Similarly, if the embedded board is edited on miro.com, the updates will sync to the embed in your doc. In other words, your doc acts as an iFrame for the Miro board.
It works 2 ways as in: I can edit my miro drawing in a Miro or in a Coda environment and the changes I make at either place are saved in my drawing. I have a free Miro account and I am using the same google login for both programs.
when i try to SHARE the miro board via the EMBED option, i go through the steps (setting the initial view and selecting Presentation mode or not) and then i get the embed link WHICH IS AN IFRAME TAG (this is following the help instructions on miro that @chris pointed me to)
