Originally established for boys, the Dragon School also accepted a small number of day girls with a close connection to the school, first admitting girls as boarders in 1994. The Dragon School is a feeder school to many independent schools, including Winchester College, Eton College, Shrewsbury School, Oundle School, Cheltenham Ladies' College, Harrow School, Radley College, Rugby School, Marlborough College, Wellington College, Canford School, St Edward's School, Oxford, Stowe School and Abingdon School.
The Dragon educates children from aged 4 to 13 in two sites in North Oxford: Bardwell Road and Richards Lane. Boarding starts at 8 and there are 10 boarding houses, including one weekly-boarding house. Dragon Lane runs along the edge of the school immediately to the west.
Teaching started in September 1877 at rooms in Balliol Hall, located in St Giles', central Oxford, under A. E. Clarke.[2] The school expanded and moved within two years to 17 Crick Road, which became known as "School House".[3] Charles Cotterill Lynam (known as the "Skipper") took over as headmaster in 1886.
In 1894, Lynam took out a lease on land at the current site at Bardwell Road in central North Oxford, just to the west of the River Cherwell. 4,000 was raised through subscriptions from local parents for the erection of new school buildings[4] and the move was completed within a year. The school was known as Oxford Preparatory School and also Lynam's, but gradually its current name was adopted.
The Dragon School became the second school to take part in the Harrow History Prize in 1895, and many of its pupils have won this over the years, an early winner being Kit Lynam. The school was run for many years by the Lynam family.[5]
This is actually every female sorcerer I can think of in the Dark Souls series. Not a very long list. There might be a few more in DS2, which I haven't looked into extensively, although the Melfian Magic Academy is the primary sorcery school in DS2 rather than the Vinheim Dragon School, and we know from Rosabeth that they admit women.
Dragon Prep School is one of the most famous boarding schools in the UK, located in Oxford. Its roots lie in the progressive educational theory of the late nineteenth century. The school was founded in 1877 by a group of graduates from Oxford University for their children.
The Dragon Prep curriculum is tailored to the needs of students and their future aspirations. Although it is based on a national curriculum, school departments adapt and improve their curricula to provide motivation, inspiration and stimulation for each student.
Homes for younger students are located next to the main school buildings: one for girls and two for boys. The bedrooms are very comfortable, they are divided among themselves by a small group of friends. Duvet covers, toys, photographs and posters - all this creates a comfortable atmosphere at home. Each house has a place for games, recreation and sharing TV and DVD.
Ten houses accommodate students from 8 to 13 years old. Boys and girls move to new homes on the 6th year (10 years), and then move on to homes for high school students on the 7th and 8th years (11-13 years).
This system has many practical advantages because it allows the school to provide the right conditions and levels of independence for each age group. It also means that by the last two years of schooling, children are in large homes, which gives them excellent preparation for life in high schools.
The main goal of the sports department is for each child to leave school, love the sport and with desire to continue to engage in it in the future. In each age group, at least three sports classes per week are held, in many cases this is supplemented by matches, events and clubs.
Each child has at least two interest classes each week. However, some children, especially in high school, will need certain classes, such as musical ensembles, swimming, or preparing for the scholarship exam.
In addition to compulsory classes, the school offers various clubs after classes. Most clubs are run by Dragon personnel, but where necessary (such as judo, fencing, squash, tennis, and chess), non-staff personnel are hired. These classes are available at an additional cost.
Music is a key component of school life, which is why it is included in the education of every child in Dragon. The goal of the music department is to rekindle the enthusiasm of musically talented children and offer opportunities for everyone to realize through music.
The Dragon Music Department provides opportunities for creative use of music technology. The school has a modern recording studio, which is used for high-quality recording of many excellent bands and ensembles.
The Dragon is well known as a centre of excellence in Oxford, boasting top class tennis facilities. Premier Tennis has been coaching here since 2004, and thousands of campers have joined us in that time from both Dragon and other schools. Holiday camps can be booked via this site, while term-time coaching for Dragon pupils can be booked through the school.
A specific part of our preschool and kids martial arts classes at Blue Dragon School of Martial Arts in Bergenfield is teaching respect, and teaching when to use their new self defense training and when to NOT use them. We find that our students become more confident to stand up to bullies. And have more humility and kindness to others though their martial arts lessons.
At our school there are no two curriculums alike: by combining agile methodologies, technology and humanisation, we design personalised pathways for each student to find their element. Including a love of mathematics. Autonomy, responsibility, and initiative as tools for self-realisation.
Our students grow up in a safe environment, where they can express themselves freely and find the support needed to resolve conflicts. Our anti-bullying and anti-microaggression stance is omnipresent in school life, favouring assertiveness, self-esteem and the ability to resolve conflicts, while also enhancing academic performance.

The School of the Dragon, or 保護官 (Hogo-kan) / ほごさん (Hogo - san) (Standard Tuyotukian: Protector / guardian), is a witcher school situated on the Tuyotuki Islands in the Far East. Due to the isolated nature of these islands, sightings of them on the Far East side of The Continent are exceedingly rare. Their primary dedication lies in protecting the people of these remote islands from local monsters. Although instances of School of the Dragon Witchers have sporadically been observed on continental lands, particularly in Bia Thin and Asatta, with their main focus being on protecting members of the Imperial Clan or Tuyotukian diplomats when they are on continental soil.
The School of the Dragon traces its origins back to the golden age of the School of the Manticore, precisely around forty years before the school faced the tragic event known as the "Day of Fire." This schism began when Nasira and Iwan attempted to apply the witcher mutations to Zerrikanian warrior women, sparking disputes within the School of the Manticore. A faction emerged, deeming it a futile effort and citing Alzur's unsuccessful results with women.
Despite objections, Iwan and Nasira persisted, further intensifying the ongoing debate. Within the school, a growing sentiment emerged that Iwan was possibly being manipulated by the Zerrikanian Crown and its allies, amplifying the schism. Despite their allegiance to the Zerrikanian crown, some members fervently argued for maintaining some degree of independence as witchers, among them, the future founder of the School of the Dragon, Gilgasmesh.
Consequently, around thirty members of the school, led by Gilgasmesh, decided to leave in pursuit of greater autonomy, refusing to be, as they put it, "political puppets." They chose to march southeast, forging their path away from the supposed political entanglements they sought to escape.
Throughout the journey, it's worth noting that they crossed a significant portion of Bia Thin. Observing the abundance of monsters in the area and recognizing the need, twenty out of the initial thirty members decided to abandon their march towards the Tuyotuki Islands. They split into two groups of ten, eventually giving rise to other witcher schools, such as the School of the Lungonite. Only ten Manticores, led by the already mentioned Gilgasmesh, arrived at the Tuyotuki Islands, and they were the ones who gave rise to the School of the Dragon.
However, this privilege came with a condition; akin to the School of the Fox in Vicovaro, they were required to substantiate their value by eradicating some of the most formidable monsters plaguing the islands in that era, basically, yokais who had taken the place of "gods" among the peasantry and were undermining the authority of the clans, including the most important, the one of the Imperial clan. If they successfully accomplished this task, they would be permitted to settle, establish their new school, and enjoy the desired independence while still benefiting from the protective umbrella of the imperial court. Conversely, should they refuse this mission, they would face expulsion back to The Continent.
This era also witnessed the birth of numerous legends, including the tale recounting Gilgasmesh's confrontation with the tatsu known as Watatsumi. The legend says that the eastern dragon was punishing the inhabitants of a coastal town for having overfished that year. However, it turns out that there had been a bad crop year on the island, so the villagers were unable to trade and needed to secure food for the rainy season when they could hardly go out to fish. This situation did not matter to the dragon, and it was about to destroy the village if not for the timely arrival of Gilgasmesh.
