Hey all,

We've updated gimme with a meaningful addition.

The new 0.9.4 version introduces the option to change the stopping criteria for the individual-level search. The argument is "stop_crit" with options:

  • "standard" (default): stops when either fit is adequate or no significant paths remain (this option was used for most of the simulation studies).
  • "model fit" continues adding the best paths until fit is adequate, even if the paths are not significant after a strict Bonferoni adjustment. This might be a good idea for small T since it may be hard to reach significance. (A future option will allow for other ways to correct for multiple comparisons, but not available yet.)
  • "significance" continues adding significant paths even after fit is adequate. The original reason for stopping once model fit is deemed adequate was to prevent false positives. By favoring parsimony, we sometimes miss paths that truly do exist. So this is a good option if you want to allow for any significant paths.
Please let me know if any issues arise when running the new features.

Best,
Katie
