Dear Director and Prof.Raj/EMBA Office:

 

We understand the amount of  planning and  resources that  go into organizing an important event like the convocation in an esteemed institute like GIM. However, please do consider the sentiments of certain section of the group, who will be half-heartedly be there for the convocation, which otherwise is supposed to be a joyous occasion.

 

Also practically speaking, I foresee that it would be difficult for some of us to be there on Good Friday for the rehearsals, as some Churches have a whole day program scheduled. Also, traditionally all Catholics are supposed to fast on Good Friday. I am afraid that the atmosphere wouldn’t be in line with neither the convocation nor the religious observances during that time (if Convocation is held as scheduled).

 

I would like to enjoy my convocation to the fullest along with my batch, and hence would request to consider the rescheduling the convocation. If I may suggest, we can have it on or after 27^th March, Easter Sunday.

·         Hi Professor.

Kindly consider rescheduling the convocation as 25th March is Good Friday a day of mourning for catholics and usually the church services go in for more than 3hours.

It may not be possible for some of us to attend the ceremony during good Friday nd holy Saturday.

This is with reference to the email from some of the students with a request to reschedule the dates of the convocation rehearsal and ceremony. I checked with the concerned authorities and have been advised that there is no leeway now to change the above dates which have been finalized well in advance. The related activities have been planned accordingly (execution of some of the activities has already started). I have also been advised that the Institute shall make arrangements to ensure that the students are relieved as soon as possible on the convocation rehearsal date.

I write this email with deep respect to the sentiments expressed by the said students with a request to kindly bear with us.
