Seems like some sales come without products list.

For example, this sale requested through API http://www.gilt.com/sale/women/denim-guide-123013/ss has no product list at all. The same thing using Gilt API dashboard, it responses with no products for some active sales.

Hey Pavel,

Thanks for noting that!
That is a special sale at Gilt which does not have products directly attributed to it.
Instead, other sub-sales are displayed on the site and the products are in there. (which are not exposed in the API unfortunately)

Is it causing issues with your code?

I can look into how the API should handle these special types of sales.   As for now, I recommend handling the lack of products but simply directing users to the sale url and have them navigate to the sub-sale they want.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, it affects my app (it's a Windows Phone app) very badly:

As you can see, it appears as sold out because there's no "products" attribute. That's confusing for people. It would be nice to have an attribute like "has_categories" or "is_special" as a workaround, so I can make a proper UI.

Understood Pavel.  Let me get back to the group when we have more updates on how these sales will be handled.

I am also running into a related issue. When I try to retrieve the sale detail for a sale that has sub-sales, the API is returning a 404, which seems unintentional and feels broken.
