EDIUS 11 is the latest update for the ideal editing system being used across the industry from broadcast facilities and news organizations up to government institutions, corporate productions, independent film makers, video creators and video enthusiasts. Improvements to functionality include the update of adjustment clip function for efficient editing and native OFX plug-in bridge, support for the latest video formats, an updated plugin pack for graphics, new video/audio effects and audio editing tools. A special EDIUS 11 Broadcast version has been created specifically addressing the needs of broadcast stations.
The OFX Bridge is now available to support certain OpenFX plug-ins from EDIUS version 8.1 onwards. Please note that there is no technical support for this plugin bridge. Any issues should be reported on the EDIUS user forums.

AKVIS Watercolor Video applies watercolor painting effects to videos. The plugin is compatible with Grass Valley EDIUS Pro 9.Learn how to install the plugin in EDIUS Pro 9:
- Select Settings -> System Settings...
Choose Effects -> After Effects Plug-in Bridge.
Click Add and select the Watercolor Video folder: C:\Program Files\AKVIS\Watercolor Video.
Click OK and restart the video editor.
- Step 1. Open a project in your video editing program. For low contrast videos, you can use Curves.
- Step 2. Call the Watercolor Video plugin.The plugin offers two video-to-cartoon rendering styles: Classic Watercolor and Contour Watercolor; presented as two filters: Watercolor Video Сlassic and Watercolor Video Contour.Select Effect -> VideoFilters -> After Effects Plug-in -> AKVIS Plug-ins -> Watercolor Video Сlassic/Watercolor Video Contour and drag it into the Timeline. The result will be shown in the current frame.
- Step 3. You can apply ready-to-use presets or create your own effect. The AKVIS built-in presets are available in the drop-down list above the effect parameters. To change the effect settings, choose Preset -> Custom and change the parameters. To reset the parameters to their default values, use the the icon.
- Step 4. You can save your favorite settings as a preset. Right-click the effect and select Save as Current User Preset. The new user preset will appear in the Effect -> VideoFilters -> After Effects Plug-in -> AKVIS Plug-ins folder.
- Step 5. Save the video. Select File -> Export -> Print to File, adjust the format settings and click Export. On 6.5, it's as fast as an intra codec, which is very fast (on Edius). The main demerit of Edius is too few filters and restricted third-party plug-in support. But for the editing engine alone, it's great.
In Edius there is a way to import some After Effects filters and plug-ins, like magic bullet Looks, Colorista, Mojo, NewBlue Effects and others. Plug-ins must be for 32bit and previous editions of AE (CS4,CS3).
