The Method series is designed for the high-quality production of tools and end-use parts. Their actively heated build chambers, direct drive, and rigid metal frame make it easy to 3D print a specific range of engineering-grade materials with high repeatability and dimensional accuracy using 1.75 mm filament.
cura slicer download windows
I know this is a known issue with Cura and i think i know why would not open, in the folder of cura there is a installer for Microsoft c++ 2015 redistributable, The thing is i'm not completely sure if this is the reason why, but i hope the community could help many of us not being able to use this outstanding software. If you go to control panel, there is a lot of versions of Microsoft c++ redistributables installed that comes with windows (at least in my case) i have these: 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2017 versions, but i dont have the 2015 version that cura comes with, the 2015 version, but if i try to install it it doesnt let me because i have already a newer version of it (2017) The thing is that this may be the reason why many of us cant open cura but i need some help to figure it out. cura 4.3 only worked once with compatibility settings but now it just wont open (i get the splash screen then a window shows up for a second and it auto closes). Cura haven't patch the issue nor help anyone at all for what i have read in the forum. Can anyone whos pc runs cura with no issues tell me what versions of Microsoft c++ redistributable have install on their pcs? What i think is that people who had older versions of it, cura automatically install the 2015 version that it needs to run and that's why some people doesnt have this issue. I hope you guys can help... Thanks in advance!
I Found the fix Guys, Go to cura folder in program files> ultimaker cura 4.3, scroll all the way to the bottom and install ''vcredist_64'', if it does not install its because you have a newer version, go to control panel> uninstall a program> and uninstall all the newer versions of ''microsoft c++ redistributable'' , then try installing it, Then open cura and enjoy!
I have the exact same symoms as you, so I tried running the vcredist_64 to see if it would install. It only offered me the options to uninstall or repair, so it must have been installed already. I tried the repair option which completed successfully. But the problem with the blank windows that crashes after a few seconds is still the same. So I guess that symptom has many root causes unfortunately.
it works consistently for me. Each distributable has 2 versions! x64 and x86. make sure you uninstall all 4. Go to control panel>uninstall a program> then look for any version of microsoft c++ newer than the 2015 and uninstall, after that just to be sure restart your pc, then install the 2015 version and restart again, cura should not have any issues after that it worked on my laptop as well. let me know if it works!
Hi this is the problem I face very hard to find and i couldn't fix this issue more than a mouth. I'm Using Rog 3090 RTX 24 GB graphic card with windows 10 then. I checked graphic card running several benchmark test, but I couldn't find what is the problem, some times cura open and work, but some times it's not worked, cura not given any massage despaired from startup, one day I had same problem in substance painter software then I remove Nvidia Graphic Driver after used only default Microsoft driver , after that I see cure is working and I re install driver then after not working cure and substanice painter agin , after that i removed Graphic card monitoring Software's "ASUS GPU Tweak II" and " GPU-Z" after that Cura waking fine no problem after that.
Print small features slower. Smartavionics has contributed a setting which recognizes small perimeters and reduces print speed in order to boost the reliability and accuracy of small printed features. This is especially useful for small perimeters such as printed holes, as they tend to get ripped away from the build plate easily due to their low contact area.
Cura 5.0 can't run on windows 7, sorry. Windows 7 has been end of life for over two years now and in order to continue to support newer systems, we have to drop support for older stuff. The python version that we need (also for security reasons) can't run on windows 7.
I would strongly recommend you to upgrade to at least windows 10, as windows 7 is a security issue waiting to happen.
Have you got any idea on the amount of computers (many of them offline, so no "security issues" there) still use windows 7 on the premise of "if it works great, why mess with it"? Have you got any idea how many engineers avoid windows 10-11 like the plague, because they prefer an operating system that doesn't break something important after every second update? Windows in general are a security issue waiting to happen, 7, 10, or 11 doesn't change that much.
Speaking for myself, considering the time and effort required to make the transition, it has to be something really important that will push me there. I am sorry to say, your slicer is not that important. Given the maturity of your competitor slicers, changing slicer is much more convenient for me than changing OS. If and when I do it, I might give your software a shot again. But given the annoying attitude, it will have to offer something EXTREMELY far ahead than the competition at that time.
Would you care to finance the development of Cura to continue supporting windows 7? I would guess no. If I am wrong about that, I can get you in contact with the right people to discuss the payment options. I am sure that everyone would
Simply put; We had to chose between making Cura secure, faster and making it work on new apple machines or continue to support an outdated operating system. Not only that, it would mean a continued burden of keeping it maintained. We're not talking about a few hours of work here, but hundreds of hours. I entirely understand that it's frustrating that 5.0 doesn't support windows 7, but I don't really see a different choice.
As I said, luckily, there are other slicers out there that do a fine job. I am quite sure you couldn't care less about how I or others feel or what we do about it, but perhaps if you start loosing users, you might start listening.
I use PCB Design software, DipTrace, that supports Windows XP thru 11. There are many Win7 computers out there still being used (mine included). Like others have said "It's not a security risk if it doesn't have a network connection." We are NOT all going to upgrade just to run Cura. There are other slicers.
Hi! Hoping someone can help! I have an annoying issue with my PC and has happened over the last year and a bit. When I launch Cura it Causes the PC to restart un expectidly. Basicly black screen and starts to boot back up again. I got around this issue using cura on another machine. I've recently rebuilt the PC and updated the drivers and working okay otherwise and thoguht I'd try once more.
I am having a similar issue with CUra. I even upgraded to 5.3. I either get a a Full, BSOD crash or Cura generates a "You should send a bug report" message on the screen. All I'm trying to do is slice a file. Bug report sent. I loaded PRUSA slicer and clioced the same file without issue. The minute I try it with CURA I get the bug message. After a reboot... like immediately after, when I slice the same file, I get a BSOD and the machine restarts.
This was amy gaming rig, and yes, it as a Asus ROG mainboard/ AMD CPU
I reopened Registry Editor and I used the find (ctrl+f) to search "cura" I then found the results in the image below and changed the path in the Data portion ("C:\Program Files\UltiMaker Cura 5.3.1\UltiMaker-Cura.exe") to the path of my new cura app ("C:\Program Files\UltiMaker Cura 5.4.0-beta.1\UltiMaker-Cura.exe" in this location: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Applications\UltiMaker-Cura.exe\shell\open\command
In Cura 5.0 we updated to a new version of the QT library, responsible for the buttons and the window, so we could support the latest version of Mac. We still haven't resolved all of the bugs that this upgrade introduced.
The Creality slicer is based on Cura 4.8 which still has the old QT library.
I gave my son my laptop which left me with my old win7 32 bit toshiba. where do i download the 32 bit cura?my computer says its incompatible with the 64amd. any possible way someone can leave the link. im a bit overwhelmed atm so my mind is a bit jumbled
Ultimaker Cura stopped being supported with Windows 32bit a while ago. You can find previous versions at this link. I want to say I think the last one that supported 32bit windows was in the 2.x series so you'll have to scroll back a ways. I'm not using Windows and am not 100% sure of which version was the final 32bit Cura. Cura 4.8 won't run on 32bit.
