I've been exploring audio recorders this morning. It started with the
off-the-cuff download of EccoNote, which is free and simple and works
rather nicely. Its developer promises that emailing of audio notes
will be coming soon, and that had me scurrying back to the App Store
to see if any of the other audio recorders already support that.

Why? Because I'd quite like to be able to record a little audio snip
and email it to people. (I'd quite like to record audio snips and put
them somewhere, Flickr long-photo style. Is there anywhere that lets
you do that?)

Audio Recorder is not as simple as EccoNote, and does let you email
recordings to people, but it's unreliable (it happily sends mail to
me, but not to my mum - for no obvious reason that I can fathom) and
the files it sends are Core Audio .caf files. So no good for anyone
not using a Mac, then. For £1.79, I shouldn't complain; but I am.

I shall be keeping an eye on other audio recorders that offer
something simple, and hoping for an update to EccoNote. Any tips from
you, regarding your adventures with audio recorders (or anything else
for that matter) on iPhones will be gratefully received.

Today I wrote a post for TUAW with the tag "blimey", which I am very
pleased about.
