Joining Suzuki in 1977 with Barry Sheene as his teammate, Steve finished 5th overall in the 500cc World Championship and returned to British based riding in 1978 where he became the 500cc ACU Gold Star Champion followed by the 500cc Shellsport Motorcycle Champion in 1979 and 1980. Steve went on to become the British Superbike Champion in 1981,

In 1986 Steve retired from motorcycle racing to start a five year stint as the team manager for the Yamaha factory team for whom he used to ride where he led the team to victory winning three British Championship titles.

Alongside managing the Yamaha team, Steve began a fifteen year career as a truck racer becoming the most successful truck racer ever. In 1987 he won the British Open Truck Racing Championship, came 2nd in the series in 1989 and went on to win the European and British Truck Racing Championship in 1990 followed by the 1991 British Championship.

In 1985 Steve started commentating for BBC radio before moving to Sky alongside Barry Nutley. From 1990 he started commentating for the BBC on the British 125 championship before moving onto MotoGP coverage with Charlie Cox where the pair also commentated on British Touring Cars, British Superbikes and World Superbikes.

Maximum race speed is restricted to 160 km/h (100 mph) for safety reasons, and a minimum weight limit is 5500 kg. Races start from a rolling start, and commonly races last from 8 to 12 laps. Although a non contact sport, due to the physical size, and closeness of trucks to one another during races, minor collisions can often occur. However, injuries to drivers are very rare.

As a sanctioned sport it began as ATRA (American Truck Racing Association) in 1979 then was sold to N. Linn Henndershott in 1982 and it became the Great American Truck Racing circuit. The races were run on dirt and paved ovals mostly in the Eastern United States. The trucks used in the beginning were working trucks with tandem rear axles, using street tires, and yet speeds of 150 mph (241 km/h) were still attained on the front straight at Pocono Raceway, and the closed course record of 132 mph (212 km/h) was set in qualifying at Texas World Speedway by Charlie Baker on March 21, 1982.

After 1986 when the series was bought by Glenn Donnelly of DIRT (Drivers Independent Race Tracks) the GATR trucks became highly modified with the bodies being cut and lowered, losing the tag axle and shedding more than 2,000 pounds in weight. The last sanctioned GATR race in the US was in July 1993 at Rolling Wheels NY.

The Bandit Big Rig Series debuted in the United States in 2017, giving America its first truck race series since GATR in 1993. The Minimizer Bandit Big Rig Series had 13 races in his first (2017) season, with historic tracks Hickory Motor Speedway and Greenville-Pickens Speedway included on the schedule.

Mexico also started its own truck racing version called Tractocamiones, which ran from 1992 to 2000 and was revived in 2015 as Campeonato Tractocamiones Freightliner. Notable international drivers that have raced in the series include former Champ Car race winner Michel Jourdain Jr., former F1 driver Allen Berg, Indy 500 Rookie of the year Bernard Jourdain, the late Carlos Pardo, Rubn Pardo, Jorge Goeters, Carlos Contreras, Abraham Caldern and Jimmy Morales among others.[1]

The organising body for truck racing in the United Kingdom is The British Truck Racing Association founded in 1984. The British Championships and race events are organised by the British Automobile Racing Club.

In Brazil, the Frmula Truck had been held between 1996 and 2017, folding in May 2017 (after only 3 races that year). It featured several factory teams.[needs update] Starting in 2017, the Copa Truck was created, replacing the former Formula Truck. Almost every driver and factory teams of the former series entered in Copa Truck.

T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship is a truck racing championship in India by Tata Motors. In France, trucks are very common in different types of off-road racing, like the camion cross (trucks cross in English), similar to rallycross but with trucks instead. Also in Europe is the Trial camion, (truck trials), like Motorcycle trials but with trucks.

You will start at the back of the grid on the first race you drive on every new event. Try to avoid the crashes at the start and you get a nice lead that will help you win the race without trouble. Restart if you get caught in the cluster of trucks on one of the first turns of the track.

Every time you race a new track in the career or quick race the game will save your best lap time. Finish the career first and you will only need to race one track in a quick race: Boulder Harbor - Track A.

This can be done during the career but is way easier with a second controller in a quick race. Set the race to a short oval, 1 lap and 0 enemies. Grab your second controller and almost destroy the truck. Switch to your main controller and crash into the other truck and finish the race. Make sure to get a skull symbol saying that the other player crashed (red) or it won't count (blue).

Start a quick race on one of the expert tracks and set it to 1 lap and 1 enemy. You have to use a truck without upgrades. Deactivate all upgrades if you have only upgraded trucks before starting the race.

You can combine this achievement with "An unexpected failure" if you destroy your truck on the last 50 metres of the race. Choose a weak truck and crash into every wall you see and ram the wall a few metres before the finish line on the last lap. Can be done in career or quick race.

You will get a gold medal if you win the event with the most points. But to get platinum you will have to get the first place in every race of the event. Events are 3 - 10 races long and offer a variation of standard races, time trials and elimination races. Races and elimination should not give you any trouble if you keep on upgrading your trucks. The time trials on the other hand are quite hard because of the poor controls of the trucks. The best advice I can give you is to come back later to them after fully upgrading your trucks and choose upgrades that give you a great handling and acceleration. These are the main factors to beat the target times.

The fastest way to finish all online achievements is to find a boosting partner and drive 1 lap races on the short oval track with no enemies. You have to change the track and amount of laps/enemies again after each race. You have to finish 25 online races. Winning or losing doesn't matter as long as you win 5 races in a row at one point.

His strength and firepower are a vital part of Rom's army and get them out of numerous scrapes. Initially he is a little arrogant and something of a loner, preferring to blast his way out of trouble with his admittedly massive Big Blazer Cannon rather than asking for help, though he soon learns to work better with others.

Pro Truck Racer was soon overwhelmed but the fight was spotted by Blackbird Robo, who alerted Blue Jet and Rom Stol. Seeing the error of his hot-headed behaviour, Pro Truck Racer apologised and asked to join the Machine Robo army. Fire! Big Blazer Cannon!

His apparent lack of concern for his injured brother shocked Leina; instead Pro Truck Racer went out spoiling for a fight. Despite Rom and Kendō Robo feeling they didn't have the troops for offensive moves against the Gyandlar, Pro Truck Racer set off with Missile Tank Robo, Battle Robo and Skyline Robo looking for trouble - soon finding it in the form of Diondra and the Gyandlar Devils, who baited them into a fight. Unknown to Pro Truck Racer, Tough Trailer had revived, overhearing of his rashness and set out to find him, being tricked into taking the Medusa Sword. Pro Truck Racer travelled back to Emerald City and returned with Rom, Drill and Jet. Possessed by the sword, Tough Trailer attacked him.
