TheMacBook is able to detect the USB at first, but once after I open the D-Link Connection Manger, it can no longer detect the USB Modem and a notification which says "No USB Modem Connected" pops up.

5. Run the firmware update on the Windows PC while the USB Dongle is plugged, Follow the prompts, it takes a little while, sometimes it seems like it is stuck but be patient. Once its done it will ask you to press any key to continue.

6. After the install, pull out the dongle and plug it back in, sometimes the device installation prompt will appear. If so, rerun the device installation again. Wait for all the drivers to install. If not open d-link connection manager on your windows PC and test if it is able to make a connection to the internet. If the test was successful go to #7 below.

Unfortunately even after installing new firmware according to instructions above my Dlink DWM 157 can not connect to the internet. Everything works on Windows PC. When I try connect on macbook I receive such message: "Network connection, the connection failed because you have not entered a telephone number".

I'd stuck at "no usb modem connected" message for 2 days, and unfortunately to me that my other pc has just been upgrade to Windows 10, which doesn't work with D-link 156. After getting the idea of upgrading firmware, I've tried few time and the computer saids: "no USB COM detected".

Direct ethernet protocol (currently only QMI) requires the router being able to run Linux 3.x and 8MB minimum flash memory. Routers with 4MB flash do only have support for the serial ppp dialup protocol. Support for other direct ethernet protocols may be included in the future for routers with at least 16MB flash.

This is not a complete list of supported devices, new modems are continuously being added.

Your modem may still be working even if it is not listed here, install the latest BETA build and test it.

The mfgrs model name is not a reliable way of identifying a modem, the same model name is often usedon different markets but with a different modem internal firmware version.

The USB vendor and product id (vid:pid) are the main parameters to use when checking if a modem is supported or not supported.

Below you will find a listing of all 3G/4G/LTE Dongles that are compatible with D-Link Routers. This compatibility list is based on the assumption you are using the latest firmware available from the tech support site.
