to GigLedger Android Beta
Hey everyone,
Two updates landed back-to-back:
v1.0.7 — Fixed the "trip vanished" bug. Every GPS point is now saved to the device the instant it arrives, so even if Android kills the app mid-drive, the miles you've already
driven are safe. Also added a yellow banner on the Mileage screen if auto-tracking ever fails to start, so you'll actually know instead of finding out later.
v1.0.8 — Auto-tracking now wakes itself back up. If Android kills the app while you're driving (Samsung is especially aggressive about this), the app will resurrect itself when
it detects you're still in a vehicle and continue the same trip. This is the same approach the iOS version uses — it's the biggest tracking reliability improvement we've
shipped.
What to do: Just update via Play Store. No settings to change. If you have auto-tracking on, drive normally — the app should handle the rest.
Samsung users (especially A14): This release is aimed squarely at you. If you've had trips disappear mid-drive before, please test once and let me know if it stays whole now.
Settings → Tracking → Diagnostics will show you any issues.
Thanks for sticking with this — the data loss bug was nasty and your reports made the fix possible.
Please let me know how its working and what you think of app
