Position: Plant Shift Supervisor 1.Knowledge of methods, equipment, materials, tools & practices for operation in the District Cooling industry 2.Knowledge of methods of water treatment 3.Knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding safe working practices and handling and disposal of materials. 4.Ability to follow written and oral instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations as required for system operation. 5.Ability to read and interpret system technical and operational guidelines, testing and monitoring equipment like SCADA, etc. 6.Ability of operate a motor vehicle 7.Ability to operate hand tools, breathing apparatus, respirators and other PPE. 8.Ability to operate computers using program applications suited to assigned duties. 9.Ability to prepare written reports and maintain system performance records. 10.Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees. Purpose of the position: The Plant Shift Supervisor is responsible for the safe operation and routine maintenance of the plant and equipment associated with the District Cooling Plant. The primary function of the Plant Shift Supervisor is to perform skilled technical operations and maintenance duties in a District Cooling Plant, including monitoring, operating and adjusting equipment and includes light preventive maintenance duties. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Lead the group of electrical and mechanical technicians in the shift to operate the plant and equipment including chillers, cooling towers, pumps as required along with all associated accessories. 2.Inspect the DCP facility regularly to monitor the operations and to identify potential operational and maintenance problems. Diagnose operational problems and make corrective adjustments and recommendations. 3.Supervise operations of the District cooling Plant through operation of the SCADA system. Monitor instrumentation to detect and correct system variations in operating conditions. 4.Lead the group of electrical and mechanical technicians in the shift to maintain the plant equipment to keep the plant operating at its optimum efficiency by carrying out preventive maintenance as per the guidelines and frequency set by the equipment manufacturers and the standard operating procedures of PAL Technology LLC. 5.Assist in arranging for minor maintenance and services to be carried out on the building and building services. 6.Monitor testing and laboratory reports for water treatment and dosing system for condenser water and chilled water, as well as effluent drained from the plant. 7.Maintain manual and automated performance records and logs for regulatory compliance. 8.Respond to emergency situations such as power outages, system alarms and adverse water treatment conditions. 9.Assist in determining equipment and system failures and repair procedures. 10.Work in a safe manner and report any unsafe activity or condition. Follow PAL Technology LLC safety policy and practices. 11.Train technicians working in the shift to carry out their duties and help them to develop skills required for their future career enhancement. 12.Ensure orderly shift change by communicating clearly issues and/or ongoing tasks with the incoming operators. |
