Typing out sudo service mongodb start or sudo service postgres start and sudo -u postgrest psql can get tedious. However, you could consider setting up aliases in your .profile file on WSL to make these commands quicker to use and easier to remember.

To connect to a MongoDB database, select Add Connection and enter the connection details for the database then Connect, the default is a local MongoDB server at mongodb://127.0.0.1:27017. You can also enter a connection string, click the "connect with a connection string" link and paste the connection string.

Find the dowloaded .msi file in the Windows Explorer. Double click the file and follow the prompts to install Mongo. Note: unless you specify a custom directory Mongo is most likely installed in the C:\mongodb directory**. However, based on settings on your machine Mongo may be installed other places. For example, C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\3.2. Additionally, you may find MongoDB in the add/remove programs menu.
