RobloxMobile, also known as the names Roblox iOS and Roblox Android, is the mobile application edition of the platform available to iOS devices (iOS 12.0+), Android devices (Android 6.0+), and Amazon Fire OS devices. The iOS version was initially released for beta testing in 2011 and later released to the public on December 11, 2012.[1] The Android version was released in the Google Play Store on July 16, 2014, and later in the Amazon App Store on October 30, 2014.[2][3] The application provides a similar experience to the Roblox website and desktop client, including the ability to join experiences, the marketplace, character customization, friends, groups, messages, and more.
Due to the limited capabilities of many mobile devices, in-experience graphics on mobile editions of Roblox are comparable to lower graphics settings on the desktop client. Some features, like dynamic lighting, are not available on mobile devices.
The mobile application also allows users to purchase Robux and Premium memberships through the App Store or Google Play Store, which meant that users could use gift cards and/or credit in either app store for their purchases. Historically, the mobile application offered different prices for different amounts of Robux when compared to the normal website, although the provided options are now the same on both platforms.
Supported iOS devices must be running iOS version 12 or higher to use Roblox. Device models older than the iPhone 7, 7 Plus, iPod Touch (7th generation), and iPad Air 2 commonly struggle to run many experiences without lag spikes or other issues. The iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X run most games at a steady 60 FPS.
All Android devices running Android 6 (Marshmallow) or higher and supporting at least OpenGL ES 3.0 are supported by Roblox. Older or lower-end devices commonly struggle to run many experiences without lag spikes or other issues.
The mobile edition of Roblox is often criticized for its tendency to drain the battery life of many devices, along with causing them to heat up rapidly. It is also criticized for its many bugs, such as the inability to use some Gears due to their reliance on keyboard presses.
Hi, I have a very odd situation which EE technical dont know how to fix, so I am wondering if anyone out there has any possible fix or reason what is happening. I recently switched from Plusnet to EE due to the formers upcoming closure. The switch seems to have taken place apart from one very odd and annoying problem. For some reason the gaming app Roblox will load ok but will not load any games when I am using EE mobile data. The app just hangs as if it is waiting for something. After leaving it, the game will load after about 5 minutes which isnt of much use. I have tried all the usual suggested fixes by EE technical like resetting network, relaoding the app, taking SIm out etc but nothing seems to make a difference. To make it more puzzling the problem seems to be confined to 2 of 4 phones I have a Moto G82 and Moto Edge 20, but oddly the problem doesnt exist on a Moto G50 or Moto G 5G as I swapped the sim cards to different phones. The problem wasnt there with Plusnet which suggests that EE must be doing something to cause the problem.
@Daddygamer67 : You are probably finding yourself up against a limitation of EE's mobile network. The EE mobile network uses Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) resulting in a double NAT, which games consoles often object to, which means you don't get your own public IP address but share it with other users. So you can't be uniquely id'ed on the Net & therefore your LAN cannot be addressed from outside for unsolicited accesses. This is unlike fixed BB.
I am currently creating a game that requires players to be in shift lock and their character will move when they look around. However, when mobile players play, if they use the dynamic thumb stick or any other thumb stick other than DPAD they will be moved around just moving the joystick around.
See the Movement Modes section of that link. It says that you can use StarterPlayer.DevTouchMovementMode to set what way the player moves (Thumbstick, Tap to Move, DPad, etc) when they join. This also prevents them from changing the movement type to something else if it is not set to UserChoice.
However, it does also say in the documentation that DPad was removed from the app and that it should not be used. If you really really need it though for whatever reason, that's how- just set StarterPlayer (a service you can find next to StarterPack in the Explorer) .DevTouchMovementMode to DPad (Enum.DevTouchMovementMode.DPad).
If you need help with this, just ask. (I did not test this solution in Studio though, so it isn't guranteed to work especially since DPad isn't meant to be used anymore supposedly. You should find a better solution to your problem that isn't a removed feature if you haven't already.)
