The documentary features interviews with Veerappan's associates, victims, and police officers who were involved in the operation.
Veerappan's death was a result of a meticulously planned operation by the Tamil Nadu State Special Task Force, led by K. Vijay Kumar and N.K. Senthamarai Kannan. The operation involved infiltrating Veerappan's gang with an undercover agent named N. Kalyanasundaram, who posed as a human rights activist and gained Veerappan's trust. Kalyanasundaram convinced Veerappan that he could arrange for his surrender to a neutral third party, such as a politician or a journalist. He also persuaded Veerappan to undergo a cataract surgery, which would impair his vision and make him vulnerable.
On October 18, 2004, Kalyanasundaram arranged for a meeting between Veerappan and Nakkeeran Gopal, the editor of a Tamil magazine who had mediated in previous negotiations with Veerappan. The meeting was supposed to take place near Papparapatti village in Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu. However, it was a trap set by the special task force, who had planted hidden cameras and microphones in the vehicle that was supposed to transport Veerappan and his associates. As the vehicle approached a check post manned by the police, the special task force opened fire and killed Veerappan and three of his men.
