Grenet wrote, arranged and sometimes directed music for a number of musical stage shows and films, and recorded for Columbia Records and Brunswick Records. Overall, his style and influence was part of the afrocubanismo movement between the two world wars.

Argentinean filmmaker Eliseo Subiela died today at the age of 71 in Buenos Aires. Born on December 27, 1944 in the Argentinean capital, he studied Literature at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and also studied philosophy at the same university and film at the La Plata Film School.

At age 17 he directed his first short documentary film Un largo silencio, about a psychiatric hospital, which is awarded at the Viña del Mar Film Festival. He worked as assistant director in four feature films directed by Leonardo Favio, Armando Bó, Francisco Vasallo, and Ralph Pappier. He also worked as creative director in an advertising agency.

In 1980 he directed his debut feature film La conquista del paraíso starring Arturo Puig, Kátia D'Angelo and Alicia Bruzzo, followed by the sci-fi drama Man Facing Southeast / Hombre mirando al sudeste in 1986, his most acclaimed film which has been considered a milestone in Argentinean cinema.

The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival where it won the International Critics' Award, and was also winner of the Best First Film Award at the San Sebastian Film Festival. Subiela long claimed that the 2001 American film K-PAX directed Iain Softley was a rip-off of his film, which was similar in themes and story and shared a strong resemblance.

In 1989 he directed Last Images of the Shipwreck / Últimas imágenes del naufragio, followed by The Dark Side of the Heart / El lado oscuro del corazón in 1992 inspired by the poems of Oliverio Girondo, Mario Benedetti and Juan Gelman. Starring Darío Grandinetti, Sandra Ballesteros and Nacha Guevara, the film was the winner of the top prize at the Montreal World Film Festival.

The success of the film inspired to make the sequel The Dark Side of the Heart 2 in 2001. Other feature films he directed are Heartlift /No te mueras sin decirme adónde vas (1995), Wake Up Love / Despabílate amor (1996), Don't Look Down / No mires para abajo (2008), Hostage of an Illusion / Rehén de ilusiones (2009) and Vanishing Landscapes / Paisajes devorados (2012). He was reportedly working on a new film project titled Final Cut / Corte Final.

The exhibition also included his book presentation and an astonishing short film produced by Theo Ribeiro and Laura Belinky who followed Eliseo on his long journey, capturing the essence behind this project. Since then, this short film has won several awards in various film festivals and was selected as a finalist for the 2018-2019 Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour, giving Eliseo the chance to exhibit to a larger audience his passion for this remote land he calls his own.

Photography is still a relatively young art form, being only about one hundred and fifty years old or so, and among each successive generation of those who pursue it professionally, a select few rise to the top. They usually find their unique ability to express the inexpressible on film by finding their deepest passion for a particular subject, or a particular place. Brandenburg brought us beauty in life from the frozen Arctic. The American west was immortalized by Adams. And now the most mysterious land of the southern hemisphere has found its voice, through the lens of Eliseo Miciu.

His most recent book, Tierra del Viento, was just released in 2017. It presents visually stunning images of the land, people, and animals that exist in the wind-driven expanse of southern Patagonia. It required years of effort, multiple journeys into the wild territory for weeks or months at a time, and extraordinary vision. The essence of his dedication to producing this book was captured over the years by a film crew, who produced an amazing short film, which has since won awards in various film festivals. Watch the trailer for the film in the video clip below.

Upfront with its cues that we should take nothing at face value, the film shows aging author Pablo (Daniel Fanego) beset by a horde of imaginary fans thrusting stories he should tell in his face. Ignoring them, he sits at his computer and types a few words. Whether what we see next is his story or his life is something even he seems unsure of.

Eliseo H. Zubiri: My art has a great correlation with film imagery, many times the inspiration has come from there, since I was a child I was surrounded by drawing and painting. I always think of images as a possible cinematic scenario.

Results: Median values for patient entrance doses increased 40%-103% after implementation of CR. Initial increases were corrected during the 1st year, and additional dose decreases were achieved after the dose reduction initiative was launched. At present, doses range between 15% and 38% of the European diagnostic reference levels established for screen-film radiography and between 28% and 41% of the reference values recommended by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, representing an effective 20%-50% reduction in the initial values for CR.

Conclusion: Though patient doses can increase considerably during the transition from conventional screen-film radiography to CR, dose management programs, including specific training of radiographers and patient dose audits, allow for reductions of the previous values.

In my long career, Ive been working with artists in different styles. You can ask me an orchestral arrangement for your next movie, or you can ask me a string quartet arrangement for a rock band (same way you can listen in works of Brian Eno for Coldplay/U2 or George Martin with The Beatles).
If you are trying to create your own style I can really help you in this job, not only with my particular way of arranging, but also suggesting you different approaches to your new song.
If you just have a song with a guitar and your voice in a demo recording I can help you to make a full production, including drums, bass, piano, synths, and any combination of orchestral instruments. All these without taking out the original spirit of your creation.
If you want a composer for your movie, I can help you too, with my musical knowledge and all the technology applied to end with a full soundtrack for your film.
If you just need some guitars or a bandoneon recording for your new CD I can also give you a solution.

These are two current educational films on the Bauhaus, the most influential art, design and architectural school of the 20th century. It began (at the risk of repeating what everyone knows) in 1919 in Weimar, Germany, moved in 1927 to an important new building designed by Walter Gropius in Dessau, and was eventually forced to relocate in 1933 to a Berlin warehouse, where it was closed by the Nazis. Currently available to school libraries are two longer, more compelling films on this same subject: One is a balanced, well-edited view of the school's history and legacy by British historian Frank Whitford, titled Bauhaus: Face of the 20th Century (available from the distributor of these films), while the other is a [End Page 87] memorable, detailed account of the school's American influence (enriched by brief excerpts from rare historic films and recent candid interviews with eyewitness participants), by Judith Pearlman, titled Bauhaus in America (available from Cliofilm at ).
