SoI have Samsung pretty much everything. From my cell phone, to my earbuds, I rely on Samsung and Android for almost everything I do. However I was thinking of getting an iPad as my everyday tablet. Before doing so, would that be a good integration with everything else I use? I'm looking at the iPad 9th generation 10.2-in screen and really can't find any Android or Samsung competitor that's truly in the same class from what I have read. Any suggestions? Am I going to experience any compatibility issues?

I think you'll agree when I say that there simply is no android tablet that can compete with the iPad. Especially the 9th generation at $249. To get a similarly well received and reviewed android tablet, you're looking at $500+ and I even heard those are buggy.

I'm looking to, mainly, stream videos, check email, and take notes. Pretty much it. In no way interested in spending a lot on either a high end iPad nor top spec android tablet. Not worth it to me for what I'll be using it for.

Insofar as Google Apps and services are concerned, everything synchronises via Google's servers - and is effectively platform agnostic. As such, lack of direct integration between your Samsung phone and an iPad will perhaps not be an issue.

If you are using a third-party password manager that is supported by both platforms - also synchronised via an appropriate web-service - then you will also avoid the inconvenience of managing complex account credentials in two different places. The benefit of using Apple's keychain is that all account credentials are seamlessly available across all devices.

As for Apps, be aware that purchased Apps that you use on both Apple and Android Apps may have to be paid-for twice - as Apps are purchased/downloaded from their respective App Stores. While Google's Apps are offered without monetary charge (remember, Google's business model relies upon mining and selling your data to other organisations), many other Apps are either purchased outright or monetised through subscription.

When using the iPad with a third-party phone, you will be entirely reliant upon Apps providing cross-platform integration - usually via web services (and associated account login) associated with the specific App.

Given what's now been discussed, in your opinion, am I better off getting an iPad as an addition to my Android landscape or getting a similarly priced Android alternative that will no doubt integrate with my phone to death but feel more like a sluggish, outdated, and rushed bigger Android Phone?

I Changed my password for my Apple ID and now my iPads and phone don't share/sync text messages. My phone will message with my phone number but my iPads, iMac message with an email address. I want everything to use my phone number again. How do I fix this?

I literally ran into the same issue myself yesterday! The fix, thankfully, is simple. Grab both devices and go to Settings > Messages and turn off Messages, then do the same for FaceTime. Then go back and turn on both FaceTime and iMessage on both devices. When turning FaceTime and iMessage back on, I'd start with your iPhone and make sure you tap "Use my Apple ID for FaceTime/iMessage" which will enable you to use the phone number on your iPad as well.

If messages still aren't syncing an hour after doing that, go back and turn off FaceTime and iMessage again on both devices, then restart the devices (hold the Sleep/Wake button, slide the slider, wait for the device to turn off, then hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Apple logo). Wait 15 minutes, and then turn on FaceTime and iMessage once more on both devices and it should work for you!

I Have changed my password on all my apples devices, and although on my phone "send and receive messages" does have my phone number listed, my iPads do not. It does not give me the option. To add a phone number, it just lists two email addresses.

I have an iPhone and a iPad they both share the same phone number for iMessage and FaceTime. The iPad has its own phone number, can anyone tell me how to activate that number. That I can use it for iMessage and FaceTime.

Hi. I have close to this same problem. So my mom got my sister a ipad, but all my moms texts go to my sisters ipad, so my mom got her a phone number for her iPad. As I looked through the comments on the question I can see that you can't have a phone number on iPad. Same thing with MY macbook because my mom sets up everything with her Apple ID. Can we all have a family sharing but get different texts and not all use the same phone number?? (my moms phone number). Thanks.

You cant get a phone number on an Ipad. You can get an Imessage by clicking messages and signing in. You can only have the phone number on the Iphone. If you have a cellular Ipad you can have service.

Now if you have a cellular iPad and an iPhone, phone calls placed from the FaceTime app are placed using your iPhone's phone number (but don't require the iPhone to be connected). This is similar to placing calls on the Mac over Wi-Fi without the iPhone on the same network. I'm not entirely sure if this is true with all carriers but with T-Mobile it works fine (carriers must provision the wireless account).

It shouldn't matter wheather or not you have an android or iPhone. I can text and receive on my I pad messenger. The green bubble. You have to go into settings and set it up. I'm not sure how, but you should be able to google it. My son set mine up but the persons that you text need to be in your contacts . I can text anyone from my IPad and or talk on the phone with them and or video talk with them. Google it and see how to do it. Or call apple. They're good at helping.

Ok I had my iPad on its own account before and it use a phone number to text. Since I put both devices on the same account they share the same number to text, and FaceTime. I can FaceTime that number and both devices well ring. I'm sure there's has to be a way to use the number connected to the iPad.

There is no way to text from an iPad phone number, you can do so using a 3rd party app such as TextFree and the pseudo phone number they issue you. There is no way to use the number assigned to the iPad.

Update - Tried to install a device (camera). Install goes as expected until the last step which, IIRC, is video displaying. Ends in a white screen. No video. Go to end apps (android) and see a wyze screen with "Share access with family and friends. Select it and get back to the wyze home screen. With no new devices added. The phone is part of a camera group. Perhaps I need to delete the ground and start all over again from the beginning?

Could it be because I am part of the beta group? I hope not. Especially since no one from Wyze has bothered to respond.

Go customer support!!!

In a previous build of our site I was able to set some parameters using CSS that would cause the site to display on tablet devices exactly like it did on a phone. After moving to 7.1 that doesn't seem possible (or at least I can't find the selectors/flexbox settings to change).

Does anyone have any idea how to just force it to "full mobile" (so the way it looks when change the edit design to mobile view) for a tablet sized breakpoint.

Below is what I am talking about

NOTE: The issue is that the search box is now doing some weird margin from the "Featured Episodes" text box instead of moving to the bottom. Also if I keep reducing the window in a browser, it keeps squishing the summary block 2 column layout for WAY to long, but that's always been an issue with Squarespace.

@tuanphan That's a pretty neat hack, but only works if you have code injection available (we do not). Also kind of weird to have to have a workaround for that when it's clearly a bug/missing feature in the platform, but that is what it is.

What I'm looking to do is have the tablet sized display exactly like the mobile at this point. So everything goes to ONLY 1 column once it hits a certain breakpoint. I had that set on the old version of our site (v 7.0) but apparently the CSS I used there just isn't working here. Should just be a general, blunt instrument kinda fix, I just don't know what it is rn.
