Dear GIAB,
We are excited to announce our preprint about extensive public genomic data for our first GIAB tumor cell line HG008-T and corresponding normal tissues from a pancreatic cancer patient who explicitly consented for public release of genomic data https://doi.org/10.1101/2024.09.18.613544. Grateful to many collaborators who generated data from Oxford Nanopore Technologies, PacBio's HiFI & Onso, Illumina, Element Biosciences, Ultima Genomics, BioSkryb Genomics single cell WGS, Arima Genomics, Phase Genomics, Bionano, and KromaTiD. Great work by Jenny McDaniel, Nathan Olson, Vaidehi Patel, Chunlin Xiao, Justin Wagner, and many others to make these data public. Also thanks to Miten Jain, Fritz Sedlazeck, Benedict Paten, Karen Miga, Mikhail Kolmogorov labs who contributed to these data. Special thank you to Andrew Liss's lab at Mass General Brigham for creating this broadly-consented cell line. Reach out if you are interested in helping us develop or evaluate GIAB benchmarks for somatic variants from these data!
Cheers!
Justin
