Hi Claudia,
So good to see someone posting on our site, I thought maybe it was no longer "in business", ha, ha.
Thanks for all the updates, I enjoy hearing how our classmates are doing. Hopefully, we can all stay healthy in the new year. Some days it is a struggle though!
Donna was six years older than me, so she probably graduated in '61. I have that old yearbook somewhere around here, but haven't found it since we moved here almost eight years ago. Guess it is up in the attic.
I am so glad you keep in touch with so many of our classmates and others that went to GHS. What fun to have lunch with Jim's sister!
Lee, I am so sorry you were having heart problems, hope you are doing much better now. So sorry to hear the news regarding Jan's mother, and Eddie's wife. I would love to send a card also.
I was not able to attend my cousins memorial service today, so was wanting the obit from the Williamson County Sun. Stephen has graciously offered to send it to me. Thanks Stephen:))
Just a little update on me, I am always fighting this autoimmune disease (Sjogrens Syndrome), so I have my good days and bad. We had a wonderful Christmas with kids and grandkids. Our grandson is in the Navy and fixing to be deployed on the USS Truman on January 14th for a year. He came in from Maryland for Christmas and brought his girlfriend with him for us to meet. Found out a few days later that they got engaged while he was on leave. She is a sweet girl, so happy for both of them.
Our little dog Jewel, (we have had for 13 years) died on November 26th. We miss her so much, she was a sweetheart. It is so different without her here, it has been hard to adjust to just me and my husband all day long! Ha!
Living on the coast of Texas is sure different from living in Austin, but after almost eight years, I think I am finally getting used to it. I slacked off on my painting "career" for about a year, but am fixing to get back into it.
All in all, I am looking forward to a happy, healthy New Year and I wish the same for all of you too.
Thanks Claudia (and Stephen) for responding. We are still in shock over Donna's passing. She is the oldest of the cousins on my mother's side of the family. She had been ill for over a year, but didn't tell any of us, so that is why it was such a surprise to hear of her passing. She had breast cancer about 10 years ago, and it came back on her. Nothing the doctors could do for her this time:((
