Hi all,
Dana Karen and Lindsey Boatright
did not show up today. I believe Lindsey was interested in fostering in case
Shelley wants to check in with her.
Angela Sansone and daughter Katie
came. Katie is volunteering at the center and they just wanted to learn more
about caring for rabbits. They are not looking to adopt.
John Bradner and his wife came.
They were not sure about getting a rabbit, but at the end they said they were
planning to put in an application to adopt a pair. They currently rent, so they
were going to check with their landlord, but they didn't think it would be a
problem. They seemed very nice and we had a short chat after class. I liked
them, so watch for their application and we'll go from there. They have no
children and no other pets.
Felicia Guest showed up quite late.
She indicated that she wanted to adopt Rosalee, but when she came in, she
brought a young rabbit with her. She said that someone at church was looking to
get rid of their rabbit. Since she was coming to the rescue, she thought she
might bring the rabbit to us. After we explained that we could not take the
rabbit, she agreed that she would keep the rabbit herself. We did a quick
exam of the bunny, who seemed to be a healthy little girl. Felicia should be
able to spay her soon and we suggested she work with Dr. Colby's low cost
spay/neuter. Because she showed up rather late, I expected to bring her up to
speed after class. Luckily, Natalie was at the center and she took over with
Felicia providing the part of Bunny 101 she had
missed while I chatted with the Bradners. I believe she bought a few things
for her new rabbit (Cottonball) including an x-pen. Perhaps she'll come back for
a buddy. She seemed very nice. She has an application which we might want to
keep on file in the event she wants to adopt another bun.
Marjory Mannion came with her
daughter Morgan. Morgan was very sweet and her mom said she is great with the
neutered ND that they have. The two are quite bonded. They came to learn more
about their rabbit and purchased some things from the store. I don't think they
want a second rabbit, but I think they will use us a resource for
their bunny. Thank heavens Edie and Kim were there as well as Natalie to
help with purchases. Stephanie and Zach were out, so it was good that others
were there. I am useless on the computer! I didn't get to talk to the Mannions
outside of class, but I think they learned a lot and asked a few questions
during class.
Sarah Masoero (not sure of that
spelling) did a bonding with Edie before class. Sarah stayed for Bunny 101. Her
bunny seemed to have a successful first meeting with Raffa, so
she took them home together. Fingers crossed that the bonding is a good one!
Brooke Pat also did a bonding with
Edie while class was going on. She had a successful meeting with Miss
Chicago, so those two buns went home together as well. We'll hope this
bonding takes! Brooke had already taken Bunny 101 with Edie, so she didn't
need to join the class.
So, all in all, we had two bonding
adoptions today and one couple who will be looking for a pair of rabbits. A
successful day! Everyone say a prayer that the two bondings
stick!!!
