This nice lady reached out to us almost 2 weeks ago about a white rabbit she'd found outside that had been shot. He had hopped around the neighborhood and folks were feeding him, but no one could catch him. One day she noticed he was a lot slower than normal, and so she tried to catch him and was surprised when she easily could scoop him up.

That's pretty much when she realized that someone had SHOT HIM.  She took named him Peter, took him to the vet (who removed the bullet), and paid the bills, and looked up what to feed him online, so she has the hay, small word, etc. She reached out to Ronda, who asked me to call them and see if they need anything until we had room, and I asked if they could keep him until we could work him in.

I confess. I mentioned this little guy and then pretty much FORGOT all about him. I know Edie had a bonding today, and that will make room for the Fulton rabbit. Do we think we'll have an adoption or something soon that will make room for this poor bunny? The family caring for him just texted me and asked when we'd have room... when I talked to them almost 2 weeks ago, they said they could keep him for about 2 weeks.

We have an open pen in medical...

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Shelley,

The Fulton County bunny has not been turned in yet to Animal Control by the owners.  Dawn tried to reach them yesterday.  I haven't talked to Dawn today, however, she did say she would call me as soon as she heard from these people.  It sounds like your poor little bunny who was shot is in much more need of being at the center right now!  If everyone is in agreement, please go ahead and bring this bunny in over the Fulton County bunny.  If and when the Fulton bunny gets surrendered, I can then check to see when an available spot will open up again, and I will work with Fulton to get them what they need until we can get the bunny in.  (I'm seriously hoping the owners have changed their minds!) Oh, this poor little wounded bunny, how sad!  I'm so glad these people were able to get him to the vet, and watch over him!  So, it's perfectly fine with me, if it's okay with Ronda and everyone else, to please use the medical pen for the bunny that was shot!

Ellen

Sorry folks!  I hope you got my complete first email about the Fulton County Bunny!  I had started to reply on my phone, but realized that was a lot to type, so I got on my computer, and sent the email.  I accidently sent the below email where I had begun to type on my phone, instead of deleting it!  Sorry about that!!

I have this rabbit on my list and have emailed with her.  She said he was doing well and they were fine keeping him till we had room.  I didn't hear back from her again and then somehow she spoke to Shelley.  I have others that may be more urgent.  Not sure why this one needs to come right in if its been vetted and is in a stable situation now.
