I'm adding a few updates to Rose's.
Jackson (young californian with all the worms in his neck) went back to Dr. Colby today and another worm was removed, the dead black scabby tissue was debrided and a huge abcess was cut open on his side and a Tablespoon! of pus squeezed out of it. Yuck! I got to watch the whole thing. This bunny is the best but will have to be debrided one more time in another 7-10 days. What a trooper!
After this experience I checked on Couscous who also had a worm in his testicle when we got him, and there is an abcess started that I squeezed some pus out of. He will be going back to Dr. C asap next week.
Amelia is responding very well to a new antibiotic and the sneezing is stopping. She can be spayed in the next week or two, maybe with Jackson's return visit.
Sondra is a holy terror! but her foot is looking better.
Neco had his splint removed from his foot today and it is what it is - a little floppy but no infection. He is to be moved upstairs and given lots of exercise time to see how he does with full activity and if all is well in another week he can be put up for adoption.
Ember - new bunny - is a palomino or red NZ - very nice rabbit in good health.
Mario and Chipper are bonded - probably should not separate them. They are adorable and in good health and ready for adoption. Slight correction in the find area - they were found on a hiking trail in the woods and the group caught them and Francis fostered them and paid for all their medical herself.
We put a diaper on Pancakes today and got it to stay on and he doesn't seem to mind it a bit! Hopped all over the place, stretched out, jumped off and on his shelf, etc. Stephanie and I watched a you-tube video on how to do it and gave it another shot. Yesterday we failed miserably and got a good laugh at it sliding farther and farther down his backside as he hopped across the floor. We will see if this helps keep him dry and smelling better! I don't think he should be unadoptable - he will be special needs, especially as he ages, but no reason to not adopt him to a rabbit savy person.
I also want to report that Jillian is looking great! She has a full coat of fur with only a small patch or two of rough skin, about half the size of a dime. I am trying to reduce her meds from every other day to every third day, so we will see. I have changed her pellett food to Sherwood Forest and I am thinking this has made a difference. I've been treating her sebacious adenitis for over a year, and this is the best she's been. If you saw her you would not know there was an issue. And she's on myristol and feeling spunky these days.
I think we should try Pancaked on the Sherwood Forest and see if it helps his poops. I can bring some along at my next trip over there. Just got a new batch of it.
Pebbles needs a friend - she's grooming her bear and tries to make friends with the other foster bunnies. I dont' find much sludge these days, and we need to find her a partner. I can easily teach someone how to manage her sludge if they are willing - not costly or hard. Please keep her in mind when you are looking for females to bond and ask if the person is willing to give her a try
OH - and Zack got a lawn mower today and was putting it together when I left.
I think that's enough for now - thanks to everyone for all their hard work!
