I've submitted a proposed structure of the book to Schiffer, and I've hired the best editor on the planet, Jason S. Sitzes, to read my ideas and the thread at Talkbass.com.  Once we have a consultation, I'll submit a formal proposal to Schiffer.

Here's the thread that started it all: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f32/interviewing-bassist-stories-866617/

So far several of my bass heroes have agreed to send me photos to be included in the insert.  We're at early days yet, but the structure of the book seems self-evident: I need to retain the rapid-fire delivery of stories rather than turn it into a big, fat, self-indulgent yammer about Thomas Wictor.

So, my plan is to structure it as an anthology.  Pick up an anthology, such as True World War I Stories [The Lyons Press] or The Penguin Book of Ghost Stories, edited by J. A, Cudden. That's ho I want to structure Ghosts and Ballyhoo.

We'll see what Jason Sitzes says.  His word is law.
